My bad, I try to just provide cliffs, but there was a second frame. Picture old guy on the phone talking about his plans with his dog and telling Mary he thinks Madi will have more fun with her.

But, going back to look at yesterday's strip, imagine my surprise when, instead of an old codger and his dog ...
Spoiler:
A wild Toby appears! No idea who she is, but she's in desperate need of some of Mary's baking 911

Is everyone in this town a complete ****up? Where would they be if they didn't have Mary Worth on speed dial to fix their ****?

So I did some digging and here's what I've gathered. Toby's marriage to Professor Ian starts promisingly, but then there was some drama. Ian teaches Shakespeare over at Local College. Jannie, a student, comes up after class to talk about how inspirational he is.

Jannie figures she can get an A based on her charm and doesn't do any work for the class.

Ian has to fail her. This doesn't go well.

Now Ian is sad and rather than talk to Toby about what's going on (typical guy, am I right!), he just mopes around and withdraws. Toby gets worried. She thinks he's having an affair with one of his students.

Mary has been trying, continuously, since the start of the year to get Toby to try talking with Ian about her anxieties. Finally she does. Ian has a hearty laugh at the idea that any student could be interested in him. Thanks to *Mary this story has a happy ending. Toby and Ian are extremely married. They’re happy that they are too. And they’ll even try this “communicating” thing, in case a problem ever comes up again, which it never will.

Spoiler:
At some point Mary and Toby went on a cruise. At least I'm pretty sure the blonde with Mary is Toby.

Not just the town. She even looks after strangers on the cruise ship!

If they insert it into their asses it will be a truly great slowroll and human achievement.

Madi and Mary go over to Toby's to try her banana bread. It's so disgusting Madi gags on it and spits it out. They start a new one from scratch and Madi tells Toby her gram made the best banana bread because of the secret ingredient that grams only ever told her about.

She whispers the secret ingredient into Toby's ear.

Over the next 3 weeks, each strip brings up secret ingredient.

The new loaf is delicious! She brings some to Saul. She mentions to him (big surprise!) that they used grams' secret ingredient. Saul says he remembers when her grandma used to make that banana bread; it brings back fond memories.

Madi gives him a big hug.

Fin.

We never do learn what the secret ingredient is.

Today's episode is literally a Cliffs of Sunday's strip.

How many more weeks can we drag this banana bread story out? This is like reading a Dan Brown novel. Non-stop action. No wonder Trolly can't keep up.
