Upon visiting Key West as a teenager I was surprised to find that the "award winning" key lime pie at The Blonde Giraffe is in fact inferior to the Publix brand pies. It was a lesson in the siren song of the tourist trap, one we must all learn at some point.

Everyone ITT needs to ask their dentist this. If we do, perhaps the topic will come up at a dentist’s convention somewhere.

Yes these were both great. I had no clue at the time people had issues with seat recliners. I ended up bringing it up in a social setting and it sparked huge debate also!

You should have asked about popcorn.

I would do this for you but I'd prefer my dentist doesn't think I'm a nutter who wants to take their shoes off.

The last time I was at my doctor's office there was a sign asking all patients to remove their boots. I'm sure if I ever went to the dentist I would encounter a similar sign. If it's not just acceptable, but required to take off your boots in the winter to avoid getting the floor all wet, why isn't it acceptable for someone like Howard to take off his shoes if he want to while at the doctor or dentist?

Obviously I just wiped my boots and left them on because who wants to be walking around in their socks, especially if the floor might be wet, however I did see some suckers with their boots off. (The correct answer to the question is probably lolCanada.)

The correct answer would be multiple house/office slippers available where you take your shoes off.

Howard still weird for taking shoes off at dentist.

Is that one of those places that doesn’t bake the pie in the oven?

Rexx,

My dentist had like 15 pairs of crocs available. Also Canada and east coast are outliers where it's normal to demand no shoes.

Microbet,

Very nice!

Pokeraz,

Did pusscat make it? It looks like he probably didn't but then again he is a cat

Howard,

It appears that you should definitely move to Canada.

You’ll need to read the thread. Though I doubt you’ll actually find an answer there.

Don't forget the thread about the airplane and the conveyor belt, though the illustrations are almost certainly dead.

Lapka,

Quick question I am posting here as I didn't want to derail your thread. How difficult is Russian to learn in comparison to other languages do you think? I realise it's your first language so it's probably harder to rate than English or German.

All,

Anyone else who knows please respond too. Also Spanish would be the easiest language to learn?

OT,

All the missing pics etc has totally ruined some of the old threads.
03-13-2018 , 11:35 PM
As an English speaker, Spanish is undoubtedly easier to learn than Russian. Besides, Spanish would probably be infinitely more useful for most people.
03-13-2018 , 11:37 PM
Russian is orders of magnitude more difficult to learn than English.

Italian is probably the easiest one. Spanish is up there too.

That thread is nowhere near as fun as it was with pictures.

I thought Russian would be difficult. Up there with Mandarin or not quite as difficult do you think? It's funny that some people don't like the sound of Russian, that it sounds a little aggressive or whatever. I quite like it.
