This might be dumb, but I always thought that hotel security guards would be wearing some kind of suicide explosive vest so that if you shot them, they would blow up and take you down with them. Maybe there are some union regulations against this?

This is interesting (if true):

"In an interview with ABC News on Wednesday, Danley's elder brother Reynaldo Bustos said he immediately contacted his sister when he saw the news that her boyfriend was allegedly responsible for the massacre in Las Vegas.

"I called her up immediately, and she said, 'Relax. We shouldn't worry about it. I'll fix it. Do not panic. I have a clean conscience,'" Bustos said outside Manila in Tagalog, his native language.
"

I'm not sure if I have no prior knowledge of said attack that "we shouldn't worry about it, or 'relax' are things I'm saying.

Maybe something was lost in translation, but it sure sounds...odd.

That might the dumbest post I've ever seen on 2p2.

Does anyone know if the window was intact when he began shooting at the crowd, or if he had smashed it out with a hammer beforehand? I imagine it would be safety glass like a car's windshield and if you shot it, it would become opaque with cracks and be very hard to see through.

Here's an article about the typical reaction to an event of this type. The subject is white privilege and I found it pretty thought provoking.

I hesitate to post a picture due to it being completely unverified, plus LOLCONSPIRATARD remarks. Suffice it to say, it does not adhere to the official story.

If anyone else knows what I'm talking about, do tell. I don't want to stir the pot if it's just bs.

Was it the one where they were trying to sell you Viagra from India? I got that one. It didn't work for me but YMMV.

I read a 'hammer-like instrument' was used to bust the windows.

Why not? If the smoke detectors had not gone off (he probably didn't anticipate that) it could have taken much longer to locate him. By then he'd be down the stairwell to the 31st floor, down the elevator, and out the door.

Depends what you mean by "escape" here. If you mean escape and elude identification/capture indefinitely, then yes, that seems near impossible with all the surveillance etc.

However, I think it would have been very easy for him to escape and do a shooting at another location or be on the run for a few days. If after his first ~5 minutes of shooting the guy gets into the elevator or into the stairwell looking all panicked, I doubt anyone gives a second look to a 60yo white guy freaking out when this is all going down.

I just asked a friend who's a SWAT-trained sniper. He said a 300 yard daylight shot is not that tough. But he said 300 yards shooting up, shooting at night, and shooting into a darkened room make having enough visibility for a good shot tough. He said it would be at least a very very challenging shot for a trained sniper.

How challenging would that be considering 10 minutes from the first to last shot, no warning, identifying the location, two different windows, getting to a place to make the shot while being fired upon, setting up and taking the shot?

JT,

He said that given the situation, wasn't even close calculation viability of setting up assault on room vs shot from ground. Obviously the calculus is different if it's some situation where access to the room is much more challenging.

Was that the cop telling blitz to "get the **** away from me,I don't know who you are"?

The shooting was over in 11 minutes. Unless a sniper lived within a 5 block radius of the hotel, is awake 24/7, and could be all set up to fire in 5 minutes....

I'm not trying to **** on anybodies good intentions but this seems to be a tad unrealistic.

Yes, apparently in response to blitz asking him to give him a gun so he can help. Lol at that request.

This. I don’t know how long it takes for SWAT to mobilize, but ten minutes seems like well too short a timeframe to do all this. I would also imagine that SWAT is and ought to be very reluctant to set up and start shooting unless they’re very sure they’re stopping a shooting in progress.
