Bump.
You may remember that there was talk that on Captain Zaharie Shah's home flight simulator, he had programmed in a route flying the plane into the Indian Ocean. Well, what that flight path looked like has now been revealed:
Simulator path in orange, MH370 actual flight path (plus assumed path after radar contact was lost) in yellow. The simulator path goes straight from K.L. rather than starting the route to Beijing like MH370 had to, but then it flies up the Straits of Malacca then makes a sharp left turn, just like MH370. There is nothing down in that part of the Indian Ocean, nowhere to land, so there's no reason to program such a path.
