I will lay $100 at evens with with first person to quote and book this, that official conclusions on MH370 is not pilot suicide.

If no official conclusion reached by Dec 31, 2017, it's a push.

I'll take the bet if loser pays to charity of winner's choice and "pilot suicide" is interpreted pretty broadly to be any scenario where the pilot caused the crash including something like he tried to steal the plane to sell it but ****ed it up and the plane crashed and covers pilot/co-pilot/any other Malaysian pilot (not sure if there was another crew member on the plane).

Nah, attempted theft or piracy and subsequent crash isn't the same.

I'm talking he literally said "**** da world" and flew the plane for 7 hours somehow without his copilot interfering and then crashed it in the Ocean killing the 238 others "because suicidal people are irrational" (false) like somehow every "rational" person ITT seems to believe.

Attempted piracy is attempted piracy. Pilot suicide is him crashing the plane because he wants to die and no other reason.

And what if he chose to crash the plane to save the passengers from teh aliens. Thats technically suicide but it could also be categorized as aliens and/or heroism

Meh, it's extremely unlikely we'll ever know that level of detail. You're basically talking motive and without the voice recorder (which probably still wouldn't help) I don't see how we find that out.

Boeing, Malaysian Airline, et. al. are going to push the suicide theory.

Families (with lawyers) will push the mechanical failure theory.

The problem, without any great physical evidence, is that both can be supported just as easily as refuted.

I would suspect that engineers at Boeing can make a pretty compelling case that it wasn't an accident (or that it was for that matter). In fact I bet the investigation will ultimately take a really deep look at what systems would have had to have failed and which systems would have to have kept working to fit the facts we know and make a pretty definitive ruling on whether a fire/failure/accident makes sense.

MA has been riding the "media disinformation campaign" horse all thread. I don't expect him to believe any report that says that says they've found the plane and that it's off the coast of Perth. He's already gone 9/11 Truther ITT.

My side is basically "anything other than what happened to EgyptAir990 which was an obvious pilot suicide where the co-pilot crashed the plane against the desires and attempted saves by the captain."

An attempted water ditching which failed, trying to escape aliens, fighter jets, meteor shower, etc, is not pilot suicide.

pretty nasty accusation based on what?

Goose, I'm fine with you having all of those scenarios. The problem is if the evidence shows one of the pilots likely took over and then flew out into the middle of the Indian Ocean you can turn around and claim something like it wasn't a suicide he was just trying to reach a remote airfield and ran out of fuel.

So aside from a tiny chance of recovering a voice recorder that includes a pilot saying "Time for me to kill myself" or authorities recovering a suicide note I don't know how you agree I won.

pictures of the wreckage would be sufficient. Why don't u bet me 300$ and wsof or housenuts can decide the winner based on media or government contributions? or are u just trolling?. loltruther now = freeroller? mrwookie=jokemaker

and has the fracking media done ANYTHING but dis-inform us throughout this tragedy?

Yeah I guess it's too difficult to accurately say whether it was pilot suicide or whether there were other extenuating circumstances which caused a hypothetical crash. Oh well. I was just trying to drive home the point that this wasn't "irrefutably 100% malicious pilot suicide" like it seems most of the thread seems to think.

I have no interest in betting that this is the plane at even money because it's probably not. I also have no interest in betting with a truther.

Trying to decide probabilities I'm maybe something like 70% malicious crew action (basically suicide/mass-murder). 28% hypoxia/non-crew hijacking/accident. 2% other.

From a marketing standpoint, does the airline spin this as mechanical or pilot suicide given the opportunity?

More like 60% mechanical failure/fire etc 20% hijacking 15% pilot suicide 5% alienz

Without a ton of thought the airline would probably want mechanical failure so they can go after Boeing for some compensation.
