Question was "in the next few years". Over the next 100 who knows.

Bump.

You may remember that there was talk that on Captain Zaharie Shah's home flight simulator, he had programmed in a route flying the plane into the Indian Ocean. Well, what that flight path looked like has now been revealed:

Simulator path in orange, MH370 actual flight path (plus assumed path after radar contact was lost) in yellow. The simulator path goes straight from K.L. rather than starting the route to Beijing like MH370 had to, but then it flies up the Straits of Malacca then makes a sharp left turn, just like MH370. There is nothing down in that part of the Indian Ocean, nowhere to land, so there's no reason to program such a path.

What do you make of the differences between simulator route and actual route ?

Also I'm wondering, if Shah wanted to crash the plane, what exactly does he learn using the simulator first ? how to avoid detection as much as possible ?

Hard to say. What I do know is that it's hard to conceive of an explanation for that path other than a connection with MH370. I would guess that a trial run helped steel him to go through with it for real.

Came across this which is interesting: http://mh370.radiantphysics.com/2017...aptain-part-1/

Quote:
After considering the list of Malaysia Air’s departing flights from Kuala Lumpur, I discovered that MH150, from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, met the fuel and path criteria. Next, I checked whether the captain had flown any MH150 flights in that time period. I was surprised to learn that he commanded MH150 on February 4, 2014, which appeared to be very close to the date that the simulation session was created.

...

We can only speculate as to why, just two days before he commanded MH150 from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah, and five weeks before the disappearance of MH370, the captain used his home computer to simulate a flight of MH150 that was diverted to the SIO.
I think I’d have a pretty uneasy feeling reading this if I was a passenger on that MH150 flight.

This is still pretty speculate-y right? That actual path and location are still unknown right?

Yeah. Also, apparently this stuff came out in 2017 and I just missed it. There's part 1 of a deep dive here. I don't know if Part 2 ever came out, I can't find it googling.

My bad. I opened a bunch of threads yesterday and never read them. I tend to miss posts when I do that. Yours was one of the casualties.

I know it's been pretty clear what happened for a while now, but seeing that really hits home again how crazy it was. So sad.

So, this YouTuber usually does 3 hour videos on crimes, all involving absurdly detailed research. This video on MH370 is only (?!) 1 hour, which just shows how little there is known about this case. Overall, she gives a good summary of how off-the-rails this one went.

Yes, the length of some random youtuber's video is the definitive source regarding the amount of information known about this crash

Don't waste time watching the video I posted or the 2nd episode of the podcast.

The guest has been proven to be a fraud and has zero credibility.

I just finished the 2nd episode and Julian added a clip talking about how the guest was discredited on another podcast (Danny Jones) that will be released soon.
