Who is to blame? You drop a car off for body work to be done. The car gets "broken into". No damage to the car at all.

It is assumed by both the body shop and myself that the car was left unlocked by the body shop and someone stole my property. It may have been a random person or someone at the body shop.

I am missing the car registration, a few bank receipts, and about $200 worth of product (sorry for the delay Suit!!!), about $15 in change and a some decent shoes in the trunk.

They're playing the "Not responsible for lost or stolen items" card. They are offering me a $20 Visa gift card.

What is my play?

I'm sure I signed a waiver of some sort.

Upon arrival, I found out that the actual body shop had been burned to the ground and they were building a new one. They told me my car would then be put on a flatbed from the drop off location and transferred to an operating location and assessed by the operating body shop and an insurance adjuster.

That took 7 days. The body shop refused to fix the bumper because of previous damage.

They couldn't replace the bumper because my driver's side quarter panel was dented from a previous hit and run. This car has a bullseye.

So they refused to fix it. I spoke with the at fault driver's insurance company and decided I would get it fixed at a different shop. With them giving me money the money that the body shop gave them an estimate for.

The insurance company sent me $664 dollars for a bumper within an hour.

Then I drop the rental car off and my car is torn to shreds on the inside, the body shop has no clue, I haven't even talked to the insurance company because I'm tired of pounding 0000000 to speak to a human and am about to just flat out sell the damn car.

I was cool with just a minor dent in the quarter panel but then this old dude schmuck in a brand new Ford 250 decides he's gonna call his insurance to get his dumb **** truck fixed. He should get his ****ing glasses fixed and learn how to drive a big as pickup and not run into parked ****ing cars.

Edit...my hooker girlfriend thinks the shop broke into the car by themselves. I think they left the car unlocked and some scumbag broke in. But in reality, there are cameras in that parking lot. It's a ****ing Enterprise Rent a car and Caliber Collision shared lot.
