Seriously, in real life chick (and dude) would be dead, or close to it. She and he would have done time w/o paid lawyers. Instead, she's going to beauty school and he's "ending the relationship because it's not healthy."
Had she, or he, had a public defender in any of the major urban areas (and no offense to those in that honorable profession, but let's be real) they'd have done time. Without the help the parents have given them, they'd be more desperate and much more active in the police blotter. Cycle repeats until someone feeds them a dead shot or a slugger, or they "bump" a highway pylon.
Don't offend poor students this way. These folks are jacked up and bent on satisfaction; f* the jobs and f* the rest. Someone said it earlier, but it is like a redneck Sid and Nancy.
They should both really count their blessings that the roof over their heads doesn't have dirt on it, and that the windows they have don't have bars.
