OKAY O ****ING KAY FINE; FRUIT CONTAINS MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE SUGAR THAN VEGETABLES OKAY I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU ARE YOU HAPPY NOW`???

It's totally irrelevant to my point, though.

Which was, in case you've missed it again:
It's impossible to have too much fruit in your diet. The sugar they contain is 100% harmless, and does not make them any less awesome than vegetables. Please do not avoid fruit because they contain sugar. It is dreadful to do so.

Also, are you really saying that the main type of vegetables over whereever you live are asparagus and spinach? You know when I said cabbage, carrot and beetroot, I actually took like the three single most consumed vegetables over here. At least that's what they used to be, hmm, maybe they've started using whatever you westerners use now. Except asparagus, I haven't even seen it sold anywhere. Tomatos contain like 2,5% sugar as well. Cucumbers don't, they contain absolutely nothing. I don't know, what else? Broccoli has 2%. Pumpkin has 2%. Meh, I don't see your massive gap.

The sugars in milk, fruits, and vegetables are completely fine. I keep track of my daily intake of calories, fats, proteins, sugars, sodium, and fiber, and I do NOT count lactose, sucrose, etc in my sugar category. Why? Because they aren't bad for you. Added and refined sugars are.

? I have no idea what you mean by this. I think you're misreading my comment on your love of percentages, so I'll restate:
Grams of sugar per serving is way more important than percentage of a given product is sugar. A sugar cube is 100% sugar, but it's better for you to eat one sugar cube than a big piece of cake.

Also, yeah, of course once you agree with us on the point of dispute we will stop arguing with you.

Fructose, the sugar in fruit, is the most harmful form of sugar, according to this study.

And, for the record, I'm not saying eating fruit is unhealthy. I'm saying that if the choice is between eating tons of fruit and tons of vegetables, I'd say eating a lot of vegetables is probably more healthy.

Imagine you are a pet census taker and I tell you to tell me how many cats are in a house. One day you go to a house that has one cat in it. If you tell me there are zero cats because you think the cat is a dog there is still, in reality, one cat in that house.

Yes when fructose is used an additive sweetener it is fattening, but when eaten in fruit it is perfectly fine and much better than eating any kind of refined sugar.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You know what just irked the hell out of me a few minutes ago when I was looking up various percentages? That they used serving sizes. I thought "jesus christ on a stick, who cares about how much there's one in one serving, I want to know the percentage!".

I don't understand you and these people. Your mind works in a strange way.

I like to think my stomach has a certain capacity, and it likes to reach a certain level of stuffedness when I eat. If I attempt to eat more than a certain amount, I fail because my stomach cannot contain that much. Likewise, if I eat less than a certain amount, other than the likely lack of nutrients I will keep feeling hungry, my stomach will hurt, and my bowels will fail. Because of this, something with a calory containment of 50 cal/100g (and 1-2% fibre) is just perfect, because I get to experience the sensation of perfect fulfilment (and seamless bowel work), without consuming at all too much energy.

Are you saying that the fact of how big the "serving" is matters to how much you end up eating? Well what's the problem then, let's just make all portions minuscule and fat people will cease to exist!

you should really read a biology textbook or something. heres a tip: the body hydrolyses lactose into glucose and galactose. sucrose is a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. Guess what most of the sucrose is broken down into.

Vantek, I understand that your parents told you for years and years that the box of "mandarini" they managed to finagle from the fruit market was like capitalist ambrosia, and that vitamin pills "aren't real" vitamins, but that doesn't turn them in to the magical wonder drug you think they are. I heard the same stuff growing up, comrade.

The vast majority of people trying to "eat healthier" are already obese, switch their diet coke to some fruit juice and "wonder why they aren't losing weight". Yes, it's true that some veggies like sweet peas are basically sugar, too, but that doesn't make the fact that Mr. Tubsy shouldn't be eating 4 mangoes after dinner any less valid. (75% of your vitamin A, 300% of your C, 400 calories, 100g of sugar).

i just wanna say, that for me, by far the most important thing for me is to make good decisions in the grocery store, because if i buy it, i will eat it.

also:
sparkling water + lemon juice
vinaigrette based salad dressings (or like balsamic vinegar and olive oil) only
keeping sauces and other toppings to a minimum or not at all

edit: also be really conscious of your portions

I eat a lot of Japanese food. For example, my typical lunch used to be something like

1 serving cream of mushroom soup
1 piece of bread
2 pork chops, half a potato, small serving of vegetables
1 iced lemon tea or iced milk tea.

Now I eat a sushi or sashimi set, which is like

8 pieces of assorted sushi
1 serving of miso soup
1 steamed egg custard
1 small Japanese appetizer
1 serving assorted fruit

Basically eating sushi for 3-4 days every week is better for you. And it tastes good too

One of the key motivators for me to make money is so I can eat sushi all the time. If good sushi suddenly became dirt cheap I'd turn into a bum.

I spend probably around $800 a month on food, but it is worth it to maintain a healthy and tasteful diet and the concordant physique which makes the girls swoon

1. Stand with back flat against wall and press in your waist area against wall. good for back.

2. Avoid anything with corn syrup. Sugar is healthier than corn syrup.

3. Look at things that are at different distances regularly. Good for eyes.

4 Make fists while watching t.v. good for circulation to extremeties.

5. Eat lots of fruit. Tastes better than vegetables.

6. Buy roasted sesame seads (it's cheap) and put it on everything. Why not. It's healthy.

7. Drink wine instead of beer if u must drink.

8. take super hot showers so you sweat out toxins.

9. always put ice in water. it helps you avoid sodas and makes the water actually taste better mentally

10. don't skydive or bunjee jump

11. date someone who looks healthy. birds of a feather flock together

12. don't eat potatoes

13. do things in tandem such as listen to music when treadmilling only and vice versa

14. go to supermarket and walk around a lot studying packaging and brand names. good way to walk wthout monotony of treadmill or boredom of "hiking"

15. masturbate. it's proven to be healthy

16. when needing to pee or sh*t, RUN to the restroom no matter what

17. listen to rap reallyloud and bop up and down and sideways. good neck and shoulder stretching technique

18. learn to breathe with your stomach

19. meditate for 5-10 minutes every day. learning how to mpty the mind is toughest but most relaxing thing ever

20. compliment and praise others. you'll feel good and mentail health is as important or more important than physical health since mental health controls physical health (not the other way around)

Those are just some that come to mind ...

Wow, I definitely stopped reading that nutrition debate after x amount of posts, but that was just terrible.

That guy would get wrecked in the health and fitness forum.

Are you not afraid of mercury poisoning, eating that much raw fish? I love sushi, but cut back quite a bit...
