Johnny Depp can only hope he can approach Billy's level of charisma and charm if he winds up playing him in a movie.
Very long article here with an analysis on the truthfulness of the film. There are Cliff Notes linked to at the beginning:

The guy at that link made a series of documentaries (ax to grind blah blah) on the history of BBSes (old-school dial-up Bulletin Board Systems). They're available free, no copyright. I watched the first episode and it was decent. I wasn't a part of that sub-subculture, I think I signed onto one once to get computer game hints. But old-school PC culture fascinates me so I'll definitely be watching it all (plus I'm on a big docu kick after watching KoK). There are similarities with some AOL chat rooms/communities, so I do have an idea of what it was like.
The guy is now making a documentary on text adventure games which I'm looking forward to.
Isn't the time right for somebody to make a long and comprehensive video game history documentary? I'm talking Ken Burns style. Think about it...15 hour-long episodes on HBO, aired at 10 PM Sundays after whatever show they have going. Each episode focuses on a different aspect/company, etc. I can't imagine it being an unprofitable endeavor.
