also i think age should be taken into account. a 4 year old dying even of its own stupidity is clearly far more tragic than this guy eating it because let's face it, he's no spring chicken.
you could even argue that he should have known to remove himself from the premises before the situation escalated. i've seen the pictures on p5s. there weren't any gypsies beating him the minute he walked in the door.
They're both tragic. When we say that something was tragic, we generally don't ask something like, "how tragic was it?" Clearly, a 4 year old dying because s/he couldn't have possibly known any better is more tragic.
