So cousin called this morning and they're hoping to get to my parents' place by 7:30. My dad told them, "You're welcome to stay with us tonight," to which coz replies, "Oh, we would never think to ask that of you, but if you have room for us ...." They're headed back to Niagara Falls tomorrow.

Other info: the hotel they'd booked in Niagara Falls doesn't allow pets. They let them stay there last night but they needed to find another hotel tonight in Niagara Falls on July 3 that accepts pets. I'm sure that had nothing to do with it suddenly occurring to them that my parents live near by and how nice it'd be to see them.

Also, pet owners do not give a **** if a hotel lets them stay there. They'll just do it anyways.

I thought all animals are now protected by ESA regs?
They'll be fine in any hotel

The best part of being a fake civil lawyer is panicked calls from family that they've been booked on indictable/felony charges and need your help.

greg, how did it go with your parents and the Clampetts???

Don't underestimate yourself, DZ - with the right attitude, you could be a fake criminal lawyer too!

Sounds extremely interesting though, I assume it's best to keep the details as minimal as possible at this point, but any more info?

The charges are public so no secrets there. They're alleging a break and enter with intent to commit a crime and assault with intent to resist against a security guard.

I called the detective and arranged for him to turn himself in tomorrow so that he gets released the same day, hopefully. This is my baby cousin (20ish) so it's funny watching him try to navigate this without his parents finding out. I tell him not to bring his cellphone with him and he's all like "ooohhh I get a lot of calls I don't know if I can do that." ****ing kids.

Does your baby cousin actually understand what an arrest is?

I had a brief and perfunctory conversation with Mike Ehrmentraut at about six am this morning.

They got there at 7pm. My parents took them out to dinner, and after dinner they all showered and were in bed by 10. Left this morning at 6:30am before my parents were up and grabbed breakfast at Tim Hortons on their way back to Niagara Falls.

Seems like about the best outcome for unexpected overnight guests.

My one and only trip to Tim Horton's, I was running low on cash and was shocked and dismayed that they didn't take Visa.
07-04-2017 , 07:16 PM
Even the roach coach that stops by the workplace takes Visa.
07-04-2017 , 07:40 PM
Good news, Timmies has been accepting Visa since 2012 and MC since 2007.
