Not (as) fat nor on meth, anymore. So I got that going for me, which is nice...

Which was more difficult, losing the fat or stopping with the meth? Based on Breaking Bad I would have thought meth actually helps with the weight loss..

Losing the fat, for sure. My "buddy" who got me into the meth (I don't blame him) and I had a falling out, he was pretty much my only connection into that world. Once he was gone, no access. If there were withdrawl symptoms, I don't recall. 1 or 2 days of feeling like ****, maybe. Weight gain started then, of course.

The weight loss happened 15+ years later. Took a year+. Required retraining my eating habits, adding some exercise, still trying to drop soda completely, much less FF overall, etc.

I suspect I could easily slip back into bad eating habits easier than the meth, as I would have to be drunk n stoned to do another line, now. Meth is bad, kids. Don't do it.

how long were on it, how frequently did you use it, did it noticeably impact your life a la "did you become a 'meth head' or was it just another lazy Sunday, just with meth"

3-4 years, ramping up to daily usage after about a year maybe. We're talking mid to late 90's thru late 2001. I look at pictures of myself in 2000/2001 era, and I think "How did no one say anything to me?" Didn't lose teeth or scratch my arms to bleeding or nothing like that. But, yeah, I'm finally down to about that weight, but looking a lot healthier, if not 20 years older...

ETA: never smoked it, never injected it.

I never blew out a ballsack in a pair of Levi's. I am so ashamed.

The first years I was wearing Levi's they would replace any pair that ripped. I returned a few pairs--including one that was well worn--and the store replaced them gratis. They seem to have quietly dropped that guarantee somewhere along the way, but I'm not as rough on jeans as I used to be.

I’m in shorts and flip flops 95% of the time when I’m not at work. But not Magnum PI Daisy Dukes shorts. That’s just weird. How does junk not hang out on those?

I work with criminals and meth is easily one of the worst drugs out there. It also has a tendency to make people hyper sexual so a lot of sex offenders were on meth when they committed their offenses. So there’s that. It’s just gross nasty stuff that can easily destroy your life. Best to lose weight the old fashioned way rather than dabble in that stuff.

That’s fair. High-performance clothing exists ostensibly to help us minimize our wardrobes (buy three pairs of techwear pants which will last 10+ years each and are wearable in various situations as opposed to amassing dozens of pairs that wear out quicker). But the reality is that luxury clothing has a way of becoming a hobby on its own. I’ve met plenty of people who can fill up a closet with $300 dungarees just as easily as they can with $40 Levi’s.

I think the adage about luxury watches also applies to other luxury garments: better limit yourself to one. As soon as you succumb to the temptation to buy a second, they’ll start to multiply.

Lucky is decent. You can get banana on sale with good coupons. I love their jeans tbh. Diesel is the best Jean for the money but they are like $200

Buffalo David bitton on Amazon has been a great pair of pants so far.

Does anyone start using meth for the purpose of losing weight?

Would you say that you have abnormally large balls? If so, have you considered going on old-fashioned anabolic steroids for the purpose of shrinking your enormous balls?

the beauty of oot is how quickly innocuous threads about jeans can evolve into more compelling subthreads like meth amas and tips for shrinking balls. before trying steroids you should put the jnco 101 twin cannons to the test.

This thread was the nut low until Magnum saved it. Big time athlete: volleyball, basketball, baseball… he was the 80s version of Mookie Betts but with better shorts!

It was not the nut low! It became the nut low when someone talked about busting out the crotch of their Levi’s. The legit literal nut low.
