Is the new Amazon delivery service (Amazon Logistics) only live in certain regions, or is it now the carrier that Amazon uses for all local Prime deliveries across the country?

Because Ive found that it sucks. Apparently Amazon contracts out these deliveries to private individuals via an app, somewhat like Uber Eats. The guys drive their own vehicles and deliver packages that they pick up from an Amazon warehouse. And I've had more problems with these deliveries in the past 3 months than in the prior 3 or so years that I've had Prime.

Packages are constantly being marked as "undeliverable" and returned to the carrier facility - which I assume means the driver is an idiot who couldn't find the correct address because several times this happened when I've been at home all day. Which shouldn't matter anyway, because they always just leave the package on the doorstep.

Well that was a long rant for being irritated by something dumb like a lagging water filter delivery.

They are going to this in SF and it sucks. Luckily, they just put Amazon Lockers in the WF across the street from me, so I'm sending all my stuff there now.

I loved everything about the Amazon experience until this started.
Unfortunately the Amazon locker nearest to me is full almost all the time. That thing is super popular

UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL all have access to my building and all the drivers know to put stuff in the proper package area in the lobby. No telling what will happen when it’s one of these renegade delivery services (either these Uberx type individuals or local delivery services).

Standalone house. Purolator is delivering 2 separate packages from Amazon at the same time - both heavy and awkward enough that it's at the limit for one carrier. This is lol Canada if it matters.

Is it the new standard for them to just throw them both on the front step, ring the doorbell, and when you get to the door (not even 10 sec) they're already leaving in their truck? They never intended to answer the door or get a signature.

When you order off Amazon there isn't a box to check either way. So presumably it is..? That's pretty much the question I suppose. I've never seen the option either way.

At 10:09pm I was alerted that two jars of Reese's peanut butter had been delivered. I assume i have to check the apartment office tomorrow.

What have they done in the past with amazon deliveries to you?

Drop and go is standard for Amazon.

I much prefer Amazon's delivery people. Second choice is when they hook up w USPS. UPS leaves my packages at a neighbor's house (unintentionally) a very high percentage of the time.

Amazon's delivery people taking an a picture of where they left the package is A+.

Lfs (and anyone who gets a lot of UPS),

Register for a UPS account. You can do things like change addresses and waive or add signature required to packages in transit, or provide redelivery instructions. It’s free and really useful if you get a lot of UPS packages and don’t have a doorman.

The last three times they just drop and leave. The times before they'd ring the doorbell and actually hand you the parcel/box. I just assumed they would wait the 5 seconds to make sure they actually handed it off to a person, but it seems that they don't and everyone hopes that no one steals it off your steps.

USPS isn't that great in my recent experience, at least around the holiday season.
Not as bad as Amazon's own delivery guys, but USPS would always input packages as "delivered", (triggering the text that notified me of a package) a full day before it was actually put in my mailbox. Pretty annoying, but at least the packages were not sent back to the post office distribution center I guess.

I do like the picture taken of the box in front of the door that Amazon Logistics provide, but not all the delivery guys take a pic. I've had one provided 4-5 times out of maybe a dozen deliveries by them.
