So I recently read
haseeb's article recently on medium.com about the current state of the cryptoeconomy. In the comments section, I was having a conversation with someone about how you'd connect the outcome of a real-world event (such as who wins the superbowl) into a smart contract that releases funds to the winner of the prediction.
I have about $800 worth of pledged bets at 5:1 that I will not be able to pass a lie detector about whether or not I completed a risky task. I also have enough people (with a little bit of smooth talking) who will probably be willing to cover the losses for me if I lose the bet, plus I'd still get a small profit from the spread. I will make money regardless if I fail or succeed if I can be 100% certain not to be freerolled by either party.
I'm learning CS (computer science) currently and I would like to know how this escrow could be handled on the blockchain, preferably locked into a smart contract through ethereum. The conversation I was having in the comments section of haseeb's article has disappeared, and I do not know how to reach the person who was explaining to me how this is all possible.
Lastly, I do not plan to cheat the lie detector. I plan to actually succeed at the risky, discrete task.
I'm a former, longtime OOT veteran so help me out bros!
