Friend has a business and lost a **** load of money because the power did not come on for 5 days now... it's insane they are putting on residential power before businesses.

if you live in a house, spend $300 on a generator it's fans, tv/computer and fridge etc

its only a slight inconvenience in your life to lose power.

Apartment would suck though.

Businesses before citizens is truly an amazing take.

Yeah, we are definitely going to buy a generator for the future.

I think it costs a fair amount of cash to wire the generator into the breaker box.

A $300 generator isn't going to power all of that.

Still no power for me but I live in a neighborhood full of sovereign citizens where your social status is determined by the magnitude of your truck's lift kit so maybe not too surprising. Funny how they're all "off the grid" yet running massive diesel generators now

Are you a Duke customer? I just got a recording that said if you still don't have power with them, you need to report it again.

FPL. I know my area is low priority due to being sparsely populated so Monday is best case scenario

having a generator means that losing power is basically the same as not having central A/C and having to cook with the crap stuff you see in target (george foreman, crock pot, etc) or your bbq... which is hardly the end of the world.

my parents never ran the A/C as a child because we were poor.

living in Hurricane land without a generator is pretty insane.

yes, i do believe that businesses should be prioritized over residential homes. you are talking about being uncomfortable versus potential financial ruin.

Wow. Residential is always priority right behind essential services. Business owners have insurance to cover that ****. If they don't, that's their own fault. You can't buy insurance to keep you cool with no power

as long as no one is living at the businesses, no one can ever die bc their insulin went bad, or their ventilators had no power, or they're old and got hot.

in homes though, there are lots of people living.
