Harvey was a record breaker. Frighteningly, Irma could cause more widespread death and destruction. Another "once in a century" storm... starting to become a common refrain isn't it.

A great Vanity has consumed man. His smartphone tells him whatever he wants to hear and causes him to hate others with lies. He is blind to the rest of the world, only the images on his smartphone are real to him. But the world is real, and God is real, and he will show man his Power, a Power to blow man's Vanity away.

Obviously this could be very bad, and I think its going to be interesting to see how the evacuation efforts proceed. I can't really get my head around how so many people are going to have enough gasoline to get out of danger. There aren't that many gas stations along the turnpike and people taking I-95 and I-75 will have to pull off the highway in the hope that the gas stations will have gas, and the lines won't be unbearable. But I don't see how they can't be. As it stands now, it seems almost impossible to get out of harm's way on just one tank of gas. And locals are buying it up before evacuees even get to the stations.

Checking in from St. Petersburg.

Today's forecast is a little better than yesterday's. All of the models have it going a little more east than yesterday's predictions. This is a good thing for me at least. I'm not sure it makes a ton of difference for those on the east coast. It will still be bad.

Hopefully, it moves even further east.

GF reports long line to get sandbags near my house. We have decided not to get them. I don't think they do much good in my situation.

This is a pic from my back door last year. I can't remember which storm - Hermione maybe? This one gonna be so much worse.

St. Petersburg, and maybe (probably?). GF and I have decided to ride it out. Not at my place, though.

Weird how a video from 2016 matches that alleged video of a 2017 hurricane.

the hurricane is 400 miles wide, so a few miles here or there isn't really going to make a difference. Also, those are just predictions of where the center will be.

If anyone is considering riding it out, first make sure you're not near the ocean where the storm surge can wipe you out, and second make sure you have enough water and food for at least 10 days. That's how long it might take to get things back in order.

Good luck to everyone in her path
