I've had it happen to me a handful of times and it's one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. Trying to scream out and can't make a sound. Trying to move and can't. The feeling of a presence in the room.

This might be pretty disturbing for some people as it's quite detailed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armin_Meiwes.

Quote:
Armin Meiwes ( /ˈɑrmɪn ˈmaɪvəs/ ar-min my-vəs; born 1 December 1961) is a German man who achieved international notoriety for killing and eating a voluntary victim whom he had found via the Internet.

well dunno about german law but in the US a contract for performance that is illegal is void, and yes its still some form of homicide, possibily mitigated by the contract

Second-degree murder. Yes, an illegal contract is void ab initio, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist for other purposes - such as to evidence malice or the lack thereof in the case of consensual killing.

Just to take one (unneccessary) step further: A person does not have a legal right to kill themself. Of course, a person cannot contract away a right they do not possess.

Lyokha, Kaluga, Central Russia (December 2007). He had been living with a pack of wolves, had typical wolflike behavior and reactions. He was unable to speak any human language. Taken to a Moscow hospital, he received some medical treatment, a shower and nail trim and several meals before escaping from the building. He is believed to still be in the wild.

Incredible.

^I watched a movie about a girl who had for the first 13 years of her life been locked to a chair and emotionally tortured by her father, I was completly depressed for like three days after watching it, especially because she was then temporarely placed with some religous family, she was there hit by the father when she had thrown up some food, after that event, she never talked again

The movie was a true story, **** people

Great thread.

War Plan Red

Was a plan for the United States to make war with Great Britain. It was developed by the United States Army during the mid 1920s, approved in May 1930 by the Secretary of War and the Secretary of Navy, updated in 1934–35, and officially withdrawn in 1939, following the outbreak of the Second World War.

The war was intended to be a continental war, waged primarily on North American territory between the United States and the British Empire. The assumption was that Canada would represent the primary theater of operations.
