Here's another "bog body", the Tollund Man, who lived 2,400 years ago. Here's a pic of his well-preserved face:

He was so well preserved they thought he must have been a recent murder victim.

I like this guy's style. After winning the marathon at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics in a new world record time, instead of collapsing like others he started doing stretching exercises to the astonishment of the crowd.

And he won the marathon in 1960 barefoot.
**** these people.

Every year at Pat's Run, which is a 4.2 mile run, there are always the jerkoffs who finish and then continue running the opposite way right next to the course of people still finishing. Such smug *******s.

Rick Rescorla, the guy that predicted both attacks on the WTC and stayed as long as he could both times helping to evacuate the buildings.

Quote:
Rescorla had most of Morgan Stanley’s 3,700 employees as well as people working on other floors of WTC 2 safely out of the buildings by the time United Airlines Flight 175 hit WTC 2 at 9:03 a.m. After having led many of his fellow employees to safety, Rescorla returned to the building to rescue others still inside. When one of his colleagues told him he too had to evacuate the World Trade Center, Rescorla replied, "As soon as I make sure everyone else is out". In Amanda Ripley's words:

Moments later, Rescorla had successfully evacuated the vast majority of Morgan Stanley employees out of the burning tower. Then he turned around. He was last seen on the tenth floor, moving upward, shortly before the tower collapsed. His remains have never been found.[9]

Yeah, Derek's 60 Mins piece was awesome.

Also, "It is notable because a highway passes through the building."

It's not a highway, it's just an exit ramp. Big deal.

(Hey, it's easier to tear them down than it is to build myself up.)

Tocks Island Dam.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocks_Island

Basically back in the 60's and 70's the Corps of Engineers was going to build a dam on the Delaware River between NJ and PA. They forced a bunch of people out and then never built the dam. The area has been abandoned since. If you look at a map of NJ, you'll notice there are no towns along the Delaware north of Rt. 80.

If you take the last exit on Rt. 80 and drive north for about 20 miles, you'll come across some of the abandoned towns.
