ini is a diminutive. Like Rapini means little rape, arancini means little orange. Any rice balls bigger than a tangerine are arance at best, weird super-sized Americanisms at worst.

1. Boston sucks.

2. I've never heard of these by any name, but I haven't spent a lot of time in the NE either. I feel like I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants/markets run by NE transplants, though.
