This is just flat-out stupid. If you're constantly updating your page with all the boring crap from your life, I agree, but who does that? 99% of my Facebook time is spent doing one of three things:

1. Keeping in touch (via very short chats/messages) with old friends I wouldn't bother ever talking to via phone or email.

2. Seeing where my old acquaintances live, what they do for a living, if they're married, etc.

3. Looking at 4,000 drunk pictures of every hot slutbag from high school and college (and having those pictures at my disposal at all times).

Okay, #3 is really the only one of these that's actually important to me, but it's the main reason I haven't deactivated my account. And it's a damn good reason.

Please don't derail this thread into a debate about Facebook, I just want to read status updates with terrible grammar and randomly capitalized words.

Went to my feed to find one of the millions of ******ed posts that will surely be there and this is the first I saw:

"no gas day today!!! if u can help it dont buy gass see if we can really make a difference in gas prices. re post if u believe democracy is not dead"

Democracy is not dead; literacy, unfortunately, is close. The worst is when people are calling something stupid/******ed and use the wrong form of "you're" and "they're" [ie: YOUR STUPID or THERE ******ED]. sajfkdasjfklajfdkasljfkal;fjaklf. I expect to be dropping in this thread a lot, as apparently 80-90% of the people I know irl are severely ******ed.

this girl updates maybe 5 similar statuses a day. I desperately want something terrible to happen to her or one of her family purely to see how it would effect her status updates. I suspect even then it would be: "Going to oncology unit xx Lots of Beautiful bald people xx Peace, love and chemo xxx"

I don't know about you folks, but I constantly see updates that start with:

"Dear rain, please go away! I have stuff to do!"
"Dear guy that hit my car! PLZ stop haha!"

I also hate the mindless ego drivel that is people announcing that they're praying for something.

"Praying for people in Japan!"

I have no beef with you if you do or do not pray, but don't make the issue about yourself in a lame attempt to look more righteous than the rest of the world while simultaneously garnering personal attention.

"Happy birthday to my Grandpa who is 100/Cher/Mariah Carey/someone else that is clearly not on facebook"

Don't know what else pisses me off, but if theres one thing I have noticed it's general unconsciousness/lack of self awareness.

Then you have people that take the baby pictures too far too. One 'friend' of mine posted a picture that was "Suzy learning to breast feed" and a picture of her face/upper body with the babies mouth just over the nipple.

Thanks to this thread I realised you can actually block the feeds of annoying people. Done and done.

I woke up this morning to find the same annoying slag ranting on about her relationship. She actually is a nice looking girl, but she's been with the entire town, and has easily the most annoying personality you could ever come across. Tart.

I hate brag ones like:

"OMG I'm so tired, working as a (insert highly paid and important job) is so hard!"

how many have you "hidden" from your news feed? i have 575 friends and i've hidden around 60. that's pretty high.

I don't have anyone hidden since if they're annoying me that much I just ignore them completely.

i have everyone hidden on my news feed. that was just so i wouldn't even have to look at it while on chat or writing a message (which has recently become combined by the new messages update which is ****ing ******ed)

then i found out you can connect to fb chat through an aim-like program called pidgin, so i don't really log in very often at all anymore

I don't do this but I have seen this routine employed in funny ways
