I do too, I think it's a fine speech and I absolutely agree with his message. I think the way you've said it is totally fine. I think if I hung out with him I'd find him annoying and I think the people on my facebook falling over themselves trying to up the praise with each message ('...staggeringly good mastery of oration', '...I think this guy should be President one day', etc) are annoying and doing it just to prove how much they're into the cause.

My cousin has been attention-whoring the crap out of the death of her husband of six month's cousin. Five status updates and posts to the wall of all her close friends and family members about how she won't take them for granted. She lives ten miles from me and we've hung out once in the past year. I sent her a PM asking when we are going to hang out a week ago and she hasn't responded.
