These have been the worst recently. I'm tired of trying to be the voice of reason to all of these people and explain that it's not just obama's fault. Something like 80% of the people saying stuff like this are so misinformed that they believe the loss of pay is coming as a direct result of Obama trying to cut the military.

There's basically been a huge uproar in general in peoples facebook posts claiming they're just going to quit working and stay in their bunk all day. Of course they're all making this claim even though the pay check that would have been cut in half doesn't even happen until the 15th, so technically nobody has missed out on any pay.

Yes it's not like 1 in 4 Canadian children lives in poverty and skips meals. Absentee parents, overfilled and understaffed schools, and drastically underfunded social services simply don't happen here. There also isn't a completely disenfranchised and underemployed youth work force. Babies for everyone! Everyone is a miracle!

This is only tangentially related to the OP, but one of my good friends constantly litters my facebook wall with stupid links. The most recent being a link to a song he knows I have listened to and seen the video of. He lives in another city, so I can't disarm him by mocking him irl. Deleting the wall posts seems passive-aggressive, sending him a message on the internet or calling him to tell him to stop posting useless **** on my wall seems like an overreaction. Any suggestions?

I hate to admit this, think I might actually be warming up to this guy a little. There's something so irrepressibly earnest about his bragging. It has no malice. I think he needs to be studied, possibly made into an SNL character, and then movie.
