I am not the one that said I'd fight a Mexican village instead of paying a $5 toll. I remember reading the posts of whoever said that, but that wasn't me. I have never been asked for money at an impromptu toll in any country.

I never thought making $1 above the income bracket threshold would make all your income go to a higher rate. However, I was asked a tax question by either suzzer or another poster where I mis-entered the numbers into a tax calc and therefore came up with the incorrect answer, but I don't think it showed all income was taxed at the top rate. Maybe I'm wrong and that is what it showed, but I don't think so. That was multiple years and jobs ago.

Suzzer, I truly believe that 90+% of people that were in my shoes would have gone harder on you than I did. If others read what you've said to me over the years then read your post about being a dad almost all would have said far worse things to you than saying they weren't surprised you weren't in the top 50% of dads. Sit down and think what you have said to me and what I've said to you.

Your assertion that I think someone can only be racist if they say words like the N-word has no truth to it and you have no reason to think that.

Calling a country, that was then in the middle of a drug war that saw innocent people get gunned down in the streets, a ****hole is not racist. I'd say the same about any other country that has near that level of violence. How is it racist if it is all predicated on violence where I don't think countries with similar demographics are ****holes?

My goof up on the tax rate thing, as I explained 7 years ago when it happened, was due to me inputting numbers incorrectly in a tax calculator (I am not talking about a normal calculator - this was a feature on a program that was supposed to auto-generate tax liabilities). Like I said a few posts ago, that was years ago and 2 jobs ago. I actually never managed the money of anyone related to me and I was a year or so in the business at the time. My job then did not require much if any understanding of income tax laws so even if you believe I didn't understand taxes back then it really didn't matter in my job.

The argument back then and probably still is that voter ID laws are racist because a) the disproportionately affect one race more than others and b) many people who like the law do so because they disproportionately affect one race more than others. However, as I argued and cited examples back then many other laws check both of the boxes yet they aren't said to be racist (example: minimum wage laws).

All throughout that thread I said in conjunction with voter ID laws we need to make access towards obtaining IDs easier. Also, towards the end of that thread I softened my stance on voter ID laws considerably.

Either way, I think a voter should have an ID, but effects such a small percent of population (and it is getting even smaller if we are to believe what the people I was arguing with back then said) that it is far down on my list of important political issues. I really don't think a racist person would fight as hard and long as I have to prove I wasn't racist.

This is the dumbest game. It's weird how suspected racists all ask this dumb question, they want you to examine all of their statements in isolation, remove all context etc.

Do you think this is because

1) they're dumb and think that this is how racism actually works, ie. if you can't find a post they made with a n-bomb, then QED, not racist

2) they've learned how to craft their messages so that all overt racism is below the surface and they can plausibly deny anything if only a tiny portion of their body of work is on display
