Speaking of, I’m seeing a resurgence of the “my parents spanked me and it turned me into a respectful adult. Like and share if you agree” with a million grammaticaly ****ed responses about how they “turned out fine” and “stayed out of prison” after being hit as kids.

The people I know who share it are not fine, depending on how you define it. Also, I’d guess the prisons are full of people who were hit as children.

Like for the same reasons we shouldn't give coaches a whip we shouldn't accept their verbal lashings of children. It's lazy, abusive and inexcusable.

You're not driving slaves or manning a gun on a prison wall. There's no imminent safety concerns here, so even IF lashing kids was the most effective way a coach could ensure compliance (...IF) there are far, far more important considerations to influence decision making.

I can't see how hitting kids can be a positive. Seriously if I can't outwit a kid into making them behave better, I'm the one with problems. Also hitting them can occur when the parent has had a bad day and they go way too far and the poor kid cops a beating for a minor misdemeanour. Anyway I don't really get wanting to hit someone you love, plus they're so little. I think it's really wrong tbh and I am surprised at the amount of people who do it.
