Cliffs:- If you're self-employed don't work harder, just raise your rates
- Get a maid, an assistant, and a personal car washer - your time is too valuable
- Don't worry if you lose all your clients due to high rates, new ones will come along - because you're worth it
- Don't ever lower your rates, even for a friend or a client on hard times - you'll be denying them an opportunity to grow O_o
- Don't forget to keep raising your rates as you grow, even with existing clients - they will understand because you're awesome
- Work like 12 hours / week - nap and surf the rest of the time
It was 6 hours a week, not 12 a week, wasn't it? My time is too valuable to go back and look but I think she said to work 6 days a month for 4 hours.
Hiring an assistant or a specialist to accomplish a task your aren't familiar with is good advice for many. The rest, as you point out, is bad for a huge majority of business owners.
I'm my industry it is often recommended to fire 80% of your clients and focus on your top 20%.
