the most tilting part about these repost statuses are that they think they are really clever by saying things like, i bet no one will repost, as if that would trick anyone not as dumb as them to repost it.

The people posting these seem like the type that like to use guilt as a weapon.

Yup, grew up schooled here. In my experience Canadians are indifferent and unpassionate about politics

He was a college buddy that I'd still chat with every 2-3 months. He asked me to move out to Cali to start a business with him about 9 months ago but never got around to discussing it (wanted me to sign an NDA first). He was planning on moving back to NY (home state) within a few months. He also recently broke up with his girlfriend.

I knew he was heavily medicating (prescribed by doctors) and he got a DUI a few months ago due to the medication.

So that information plus the message he sent leads me to believe suicide. I've never met his family so I'd feel too awkward asking the family for more information.

They setup a memorial website but it has no information about his death.

Bummed me out today.

So true. I lived in Canada for a year and a half... never met anyone that knew much about Canadian politics.

Yet they have so much national pride and love distinguishing themselves from Americans.

Really depends where you live. He was definitely pretty famous in the 20-30 year old crowd of downtown Toronto, obv. (Lives here, gives money to broke students, likes hippie crap, etc.)

a couple months ago some people on facebook changed their picture to some cartoon with the status "change your profile pic to your favourite childhood cartoon character to stop child abuse" This obviously made total sense to me, so I changed mine to pedo bear, unfortunately no one got it
