I think that one in particular might be someone trying to compile a list of extremely stupid people - to sell to marketers or whomever.

A few decades ago there was a late night commercial for a watch. But look closely, those aren't hands, they're AMAZING PULSES OF LIGHT. It was a digital watch such had already existed for 20 years. And it sold for like $10.99 or something. I'm convinced they sold the watch at a loss or breakeven - just to get the mailing list of the stupidest people in the world - who also watch late night TV and buy things.



Edit: And of course there it is. $12 with S&H. How can they make enough money off that to also advertise? Keep in mind, digital watches like this had been around at least a decade - probably 2 decades.

I actually kinda wish I had one of those now. Wear that out and it's a hilarious conversation piece.

Cliffs:

• If you're self-employed don't work harder, just raise your rates

It was 6 hours a week, not 12 a week, wasn't it? My time is too valuable to go back and look but I think she said to work 6 days a month for 4 hours.

Hiring an assistant or a specialist to accomplish a task your aren't familiar with is good advice for many. The rest, as you point out, is bad for a huge majority of business owners.

I'm my industry it is often recommended to fire 80% of your clients and focus on your top 20%.
