It is scary that this is the new generation.

Keep in mind that like they're ALL on facebook at that age. So that's a small sampling out of like every child that speaks english and doesn't live in a county with a moonshine driven economy.

There should be a lot of ungrateful kids hitting the streets on their 18th birthday. I know mine would if I read anything like that they posted on FB. And without a Camaro or an iPhone.

A lot of that crap has to come with peer pressure though. Kids get a lot of **** from other kids for not living in the right neighborhood or owning the right gadgets. I don't honestly think each of those kids actually thought they were going to get an ipad and a car for Christmas. But they likely hang out with kids who do, and have to make it look like they are SO SHOCKED and outraged that they, too, didn't get one. While deep down they know their dad may have just lost his job or whatever.

It was a lot easier to hide the fact that you weren't as cool or rich as the cool kids back when we were younger. I can't imagine going through high school with Facebook.... must be utter hell when you think about it. Huge net-negative.

I mean adults do this, too. Look at your friends' FB pics and it looks like all they do is party and travel and have a good time and their life is perfect, because that's what is presented. I have friends and family members that are going through tough times and depression right now that if you looked at their FB page you'd think their life is awesome and perfect and better than yours. It's all smoke and mirrors. Doesn't seem like a lot of people understand that, though. Especially not 16 year olds.
