as a rule of thumb, anybody who posts re:

- the awesome thing they are cooking
- the amazing restaurant they are going to or went to tonight
- the weather and their opinion of it
- anything about why they are a social media expert
- something so vague they are trolling for responses
- their opinion re: the current day of the week

gets hidden. I'm probably right around the Sublime 10% unhidden mark

This is the one thing that probably bothers me the most. Well, after the political ravings anyway. And to be honest, I don't really know why it bugs me so. It just does.

Depends on what the lyrics are. If it's some stupid emo bullsht then it's gotta go. If it's a well written piece, a cool song, or a meme/joke I'm probably okay with it.

This thread contains a million examples of why facebook is a waste of time at best, and yet in another thread, more people say it's negative rather than positive if someone tells them they don't use fb.

The people I know who don't have Facebook also don't have very many friends. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that - it's perfectly ok to have only a few close friends. Maybe it's just sample size, but my friends who still don't have FB generally tend to not like/get easily annoyed by most people they meet. So FB is just a stream of annoyance for them.

Also no matter what they say, I think having that constant reminder that they don't have a lot of friends or a very active social life, is a big reason they shun FB.

Focusing on the most negative part of something isn't really proof that the thing itself isn't worth using.

One of my friends was really close to finally getting on FB. Then that South Park episode came out trashing it. South Park is one of his favorite shows, so I think that just cemented him forever in the non-FB camp.

Boo bees was on Bob's Burgers recently, I think, so that person is probably worth friending twice. I definitely have an album of food pictures on my facebook and some of my friends regularly like/comment on individual pics. I wonder how many people have blocked me because of it. Hmm.

I am on fb, although I don't use my real name. But you're right, I have no use for annoying vapid idiots who believe they have all sorts of brilliant insights into the human condition.

You know how sometimes, when you decide to watch Faces of Death, click on that WARNING: GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING IMAGES link, or flip through that Real Death Scenes coffee table book you have, you have a quick wait, maybe I don't really want to see this moment, where you realize the entertainment value of something does not outweigh the revulsion you will ultimately experience?

Yeah, that's me in this thread.
