my younger cousin was a juggalo about 10 years ago (might still be, don't know, never talk to the guy). i'm from the midwest, and a lot of people 2 classes below me in high school would sometimes show up to school in clown paint. seriously.

i don't know much for details, but a war started between the juggalos and the wiggers. the one line i caught and will never forget was from a juggalo: "we'll see how hard you are when you look out your window at night and see the juggalo army standing on your lawn, 300 clowns deep"

that is an absolute direct quote. 300 clowns deep. as a threat.

also, a guy in my class actually met the ICP guys when he was working at GNC. they came in to buy some supplement stuff, and he recognized them because he fancies himself a rapper (whole other story). they talked a bit, he mentioned he was a rapper, they asked him to throw down some freestyle, he said he doesn't do that kind, then they had to leave because people were recognizing their ICP'd-out caddy in the shopping center parking lot and didn't want to be hassled by a crowd. not a very interesting story if you don't know the guy, but there you go.

I dug ICP for a minute 10-12 years ago (for my birthday one year I think I got 3 ICP CDs from different friends) then pretty much grew out of it once I started listening to metal. It's pretty hokey, but certainly not dumber then any other rap act.

From listening to their music and listening/watching interviews with them on Stern, I always got the impression that they weren't taking things too seriously, they just made music that their crowd dug. I guess it kind of makes sense that as they and their crowd grows older and has more adult responsibility their message is going to change, it's just super odd to hear. I remember listening to Great Milinko and Riddle Box and Tunnel of Love (and Forgotten Freshness, which was bad even for them) and NEVER ONCE thinking "oh yeah, they must be talking about god".

I was always aware that they had a yearly festival, but they were on Stern not too long ago talking about it and it just sounded scary. Several thousand kids, in makeup, who take the songs very seriously, deep in the woods, with no cops around.

....the story about Shaggy getting beat up trying to break into a house when he was a kid and crapping himself is pretty funny, though.

I am listening to Carl Sagan's stuff about A Glorious Dawn. The fact that these ******s have problems with pelicans while Sagan had already figured out that Venus was inhospitable and that the red **** raining on Mars was organic makes me very unhappy.

I'm glad someone already posted a link to the song "dating game". I still listen to this song every now and then. When I was younger I owned The Great Melinko and The Amazing Jeckel Brothers. If I listened to them now it would likely bring back fond memories of my youth, but I would never claim that they're actually a good band. I was never anything close to all those mouth breathing juggalos.
