A simpler time.

I just had a 'chocolate cow' aka a 'brown cow', a float made with root beer and chocolate ice cream.
It was very good. A&W Root Beer #1

My grocery store routinely runs out of A&W root beer, it bugs the heck out of me.

Today is National Mango Day.
https://nationaldaycalendar.com/nati...o-day-july-22/

I decided to be good to myself and buy some Häagen-Dazs creamy mango ice cream.
Well, I hit 2 different grocery store chains, came up empty. I couldn't find any brand of Mango Ice Cream.

I did manage to buy a pint of the Häagen-Dazs mango sorbet, and a pint of the Talenti Alphonso Mango Sorbetto. Both were 'ok', nothing to jump up and down about.

If you ever get a chance to buy/try the Häagen-Dazs creamy mango ice cream, don't pass it up. It is fantastic, especially on a dripping hot day.

Ice Cream > Sorbet and it's not even close.

Jeni's: Overpriced and too many stupid mix-ins.
Example:
Jeni's Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam Ice Cream:
I don't need biscuits in my Peach Ice Cream.
One stupid mix-in after another.

For the price of one Jeni's pint, I can get two pints of a good Ice Cream.

I don’t know why you would ever have peach ice cream without biscuits.

Had one of these babies last night, maybe for the last time?

It was tasty, and brought back good memories of summers past.

When I'm trying to save some money, and I'm not reaching for a pint of super premium.

Tillamook (1.5 quart size) is darn good ice cream.
I think it's the best ice cream that is sold in the 1.5 quart size.
Usually it's around $4.99 a container.
So many great flavors.

Tillamook is overrated all around in their products, they somehow conned people into thinking they are a premium company.

They are head and shoulders above that swill Blue Bell Ice Cream, that's for sure.

And they don't make Rainbow Sherbet. That stuff is nasty.

i live 80 miles away from the Tillamook Creamery and the personal sample size is large enough to confidently disagree with the 'overated all around' comment.
just a couple of weeks ago they won two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals at the 39th American Cheese Society competition, and earlier this year they won four gold, one silver, and two bronze at the 125th International Cheese & Dairy Awards

and i also have no idea what the 'premium company' comment is all about.

Blue Bell isn't great either. Nothing that costs $5 for will be, throw some of that rainbow sherbet in some ginger ale for a float and you got the taste of Summah.

Pabst won a ****ing Blue Ribbon. Every vodka claims to have won best in the world. Some countries other than USA claim to be #1. Those competitions don't mean much.

Blue Bell butter pecan is delightful. Good thing we can't get it here.

ohh, that's a good one. yeah ice tacos or spaghetti ice.

but thats nothimg in comparison to real gelati, you don't know what ice cream is if you didn't eat real Italian ice cream.
they have it on every corner in Italy and it's a national dish, staple food you could say. not what you eat there, real quality. with real milk and fruits freshly made.

haagen come closest imo. maybe Ben&jerrys
