what would be best drug to consume besides pot/alchi on a 4 day houseboat trip on lake powell? ex, acid, or shrooms?

The real question isn't what drug is best in this environment, but what drug do you like the most? You'll probably have the best time on that.

If you take a psychedelic make sure everyone is a strong swimmer, or you have someone who is kind of nitty about water safety with you. Underwater sounds just about the worst place to panic. Besides that I think it would be really fun.

I think E wins in most scenarios, including that one. Shrooms are cool too. I'd avoid acid unless everyone is very laid back on it (which you never know until you do it - although high-strung people tend to be the same on acid). And even then I think the other two are a lot more fun.

Best thing to do with shrooms is to make tea with them. Eliminates the nasty taste and all of the toxins you get when you eat them. Chicks won't puke on tea, like they often do eating them. Which is a plus. The high is shorter and more euphoric, but less trippy. So if you're into long and trippy, eating them might be better. Never ever smoke the shrooms. Bad buzz.

First time I saw From Dusk 'Til Dawn was when I was on acid and it was much more awesome than it would have been if I weren't.

How is suzzer not a mod of the drug forum yet? So much wisdom. I second the shroom tea, its easy to make, tastes good, and the initial quease is not as bad.

I say E. It's great anywhere, anytime. You're pretty much guaranteed to have a great time when that seratonin gets dumped (if the pill is pure, meth sucks). With shrooms/acid theres always a small chance of a bad trip so I'd go w/ E if multiple people are going to be doing the drugs.

As much as I think I'd like to try something like this from time to time, this statement right here pretty much sums up why I never will. I just can't see myself having as good a trip on it as everyone else does. I'd be way too worried about everything.

Thanks for the update, young fella. Sounds like it was a blast. FWIW, I have tripped many times on various forms of LSD, Microdots, Mesc and Shrooms, yet I have never experienced visuals that amounted to anything more than the standard walls-melting, carpet-waving illusions. Maybe I never had the best stuff. I dunno. Whatever the case, the mind-expansion effects, and general sense of well-being, are more than satisfying to me.

It has always amazed me how people find the effects of shrooms and acid to be different. Identical high to me (aside from the taste).

Also, in the event any of you are thinking of taking the Frank Zappa advice- think again. No offense to AlCaponeJunior, but I wouldn't advise listening to that weirdo ****ing crap sober- let alone in a state where it will really stick in your head. Live Dead for the happy trip win. Or maybe some old Sabbath if you wanna explore darker territory.

One thing I have never seen recommended is enjoying some trip in a more glamorous, dress-up sort of environment. Not a club where the competitive nature of things can lead to fights and other buzzkills, but rather something more along the line of a nice hotel/jazz-joint/fancy bar/restaurant scene.

After one gets a grip on how they react to the drug, it can be incredibly versatile. It doesn't always have to be some hippie-type ****. Having your senses at their zenith can provide nice dividends in a variety of atmospheres, and the glitzier ones can be super cool.

One more thing... If you are not some insecure headcase, you're in friendly company, and nothing goes horribly wrong- I seriously doubt anyone needs to worry about a bad trip.

After a few mushroom trips I realized I worried a lot in the time period between ingestion and the actual effect. This ultimately led to anxiety and other buzzkilling emotions throughout the trip.

I discovered having 3-4 beers before taking the mushrooms got me in the perfect mood to just go with the flow. Also, salvia.

And +1 for wtf on the acid hangovers, I generally feel amazing the next day. I can never get to sleep after tripping (I'm an insomniac to start with) but it feels so good to just lay under the covers all warm and comfortable listening to music and knowing you just had a crazy experience.

The trick to avoiding acid hangovers is to take acid during the day. Most acid hangovers are actually "staying up for 24 hours+ and throwing your body's schedule way out of wack" hangovers.

Kinda, but not quite; I think for mushrooms the specific pull of nature is stronger. For me, it's more about being somewhere alive and vibrant. Machines are so cold and dull. People who spend lots of times around machines are cold and dull. When you're tripping, so many pursuits people consider "normal" seem really uninteresting compared to the fascinating depths of life-- within you and without you.

Any peyote trip reports? Mescaline is identical yes? I heard from an ex-super drug user that peyote is the best.

Last time I tripped in the beginning of summer me and 4 freinds went camping. One of our neighbors were some old hippyish type of couple that hung out with us for an hour or so smoking weed with us. As time went by the acid really hit us hard and we had the hardcore giggles for some reason and it was just super wierd having them around us and I couldnt even talk to them cuz it was just weird. Eventually the way we were acting, laughing and talking all loud musta freaked them out or whatever and they ended up leaving and we were all really happy that these people that werent on the same level as us left. Afterwards we just spent all night tripping and laughing our asses off, great time.
