At work I ended up with 0,9 square and 9,0 square. What are the odds my squares hit? Not very likely right?

One team would have to have 3 touchdowns+extra point, or one touchdown+extra point+2point conversion. Does that happen a lot?

Would the best squares be 7,4 or 4,7?

How often do they go for the 2point conversion instead of a field goal?

With the new longer extra points your numbers aren't awful. A team could easily get a TD, miss the PAT, and then kick a FG.

It is very rare for that to be a team's total score.

Yes, football is weird in that the same play doesn't always count for the same amount of points.

Field goals are worth 3 points.

After a team scores a touchdown (they get 6 points for that), they can choose to either kick a short field goal for 1 extra point (called, wait for it, an "extra point" or PAT/point after touchdown) or run a short play (called a 2-point conversion) for 2 extra points. So a touchdown can be 6 (if they miss the PAT or 2-point conversion attempt), 7 (if they make a PAT), or 8 (if they make a 2-point conversion) points.

TD is 6 points.

A) You get 1 point if you successfully make a 33-yd kick (like a FG) afterwards for total of 7. Or,

B) You can get the ball on the 2-yard line, and get 2 points if you run/pass the ball into the end-zone from there, for total of 8. Or,

C) If you miss either A or B you get 0 points, for total of 6.

A is most common, so TDs usually result in 7 points but not always.

Godgers is going to throw 7 tds so he's got your 9 covered.

9 isn't the worst number. It is slightly less sucky than a 5 or a 2.
