not going to spoil it here, but you can always go to marksfriggin.com to get a daily rundown

i would guess they'll replay it later today or next week after they get lots of negative feedback. the problem is they might wait until howard returns to work on monday before they get his ok to replay it.

it happened around 8:30am ET

"How could that be bad news for you?", I asked.

"I've got XM, and I'm a huge O+A fan," he explained.

"So?"

"So, Howard's going to be the big swinging d*ck at the new, combined company. He'll never stand for O+A to get any airtime."

I had to explain to this guy that there was no "feud" between the two shows. I know that O+A are constantly mentioning themselves in the same breath as Howard, but Howard never mentions them. When the topic is brought up, all Howard will say is, "I don't give a moment's thought to those guys--or to any other show, for that matter."

My co-worker was stunned to hear this. He was led to believe (by O+A) that Stern was their sworn enemy.

I wonder if people like Willie will be mad if Stern fans embrace O+A after the merger gets finalized. You *know* Howard will urge all his fans to support anyone on his team--he may even stop bashing Oprah.
Came to thread to read the artie stuff, as I heard about it from a friend this morning and love artie. Im admitted OnA guy (more ron and fez) but whatever, there ABSOLUTELY was a feud and a gag order, I know numerous people who worked at both WNEW and KROCK who attest to this. Was it overblown for gimmick purposes, probably, but Stern definitely had Mel censor WNEW in the late 90s/early 2000.

I must say, that was pretty crazy, but it seemed to be something that was going to happen sooner or later. I never miss a show, and Artie is easily my favorite character. It just seems like they two sides need to part ways for the final 3 years of the show.

Sometimes the show is just amazing mainly because of Artie, but more often than not he seems to just be a negative on the show lately, and thats coming from someone who loves him. It doesn't seem like he wants to be there, and it shows.

From a strictly show standpoint, I think that the process of going through who would replace him (if he doesn't come back) would be awesome, and I wasn't a listener when it happened last time. Seems like the type of thing that could give the show a big boost.

Hope the best for him, and hope he lays off the H-Diesel. I think the only way Artie could really get his life back together is to be off the show, so hopefully it all works out for him.

haha

'you pried it out of me! you're the great interviewer!'
'evidently!'

i hate robin so much, she just seems to have made a career out of repeating what howard says. that 'WHAT THE F!!!' was kinda laughable.

Yea, Robin can be rough. Her cackling drives me crazy.

The whole stealing money thing was kind of weird. Seems like Artie has so much money stuff built up from people borrowing money off of him, the bookie, etc, that it just boiled over on Teddy.

Oh my God...I listen to the show from midnight to 6 AM, so I haven't heard (or read) any of this "big news" yet. Based on these posts, though, it sounds like this is going to be really depressing.

You won't get to hear it. Howard pulled the replay. There isn't even a writeup on howardstern.com.

Go to marksfriggin.com and read their show report.

I decided to go back to bed this morning, figuring I'd just listen to the 6:00 pm rebroadcast from the start while playing cards instead of picking up half way through. I saw this thread when I woke up.

Oops. It never ****ing fails.

EEEEK IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! OI VAY!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the Artie v's Howard flare up the other month and this sounds on par if not better from how you guys are hyping it up.

I may have to skip past a bunch of shows and listen to todays first.

Eh, long time coming. He's been "trying" to quit for months now. Ever since he brought up that Italy thing, it's obvious he's been passively trying to quit/get fired. It's a shame...he's a perfect fit on the show.

Yeah, it's too bad. I really don't want Craig Fitzsimmons in the chair.

I'll bet this is gonna result in Artie getting a lotta guff from the fans at his shows.
