I heard elsewhere Artie did a show over the weekend and he told them he was going to be back in the studio monday.

Sounds like a pre-vacation stunt to get people to tune back in.

I don't think there is a chance in hell that this is the case.

I hope artie is gone and goes busto. He is so terrible lately. Such a whiny C*nt.

So hes back?

Yes, he's back, no suspension, no fallout, no aftermath. He just took a week in Holland and chilled.

He *sounds* a lot better. He's not mumbling like he was on Donny Deutsch. And Howard noticed how striking it was that Artie came in clean-shaved.

Howard explained that there were no replays because Howard decided that, "I didn't know if Artie was feeling suicidal, and I didn't want Artie hearing a replay later in the day if it might send him over the edge." When asked, Artie not only agreed that the fracas be aired on radio and HTV, he *insisted* that they air it. "Our subscribers are paying for this. We promised unedited and uncensored, it wouldn't be right to keep this from them."

Uneventful trip for Artie: no H, no hookers. Just a few joints, and a lot of pancakes.

(Unrelated note: it's a million-to-one shot, but if Fred ever starts playing Joe Pesci lines from Raging Bull about Artie--"Ya fat ****, look at ya!", or, "You're crackin' up!"--I'm taking the credit now for the email I sent in suggesting it. If I tried to claim credit after he did it, you guys would never believe me.)

I caught a bit of the replay today (I don't usually listen to the show until the midnight replay), and it sounded like Artie was back to normal. He apologized to Teddy, and they were even able to have a quick discussion, so there doesn't appear to be too much bad blood.

I just hope we aren't talking about this again a month from now if/when Artie punches High Pitch Mike in his googly eye.

The fight was added to HTV today as well. It actually didn't look as intense as it sounded. Artie never got close to Teddy. He stood up, threw water at him, Benjy grabbed Artie, and Ronnie hurried Teddy out of the studio. After a second Artie ran out of the studio to go after Teddy, but Teddy was being kept somewhere, and there were about six guys who just pushed Artie into the green room and shut the door.

Glad to see Artie back. Looks like he has a new appreciation for his job, so hopefully that continues. The show is really really good when he is on his game and always throwing around one liners like he was the past two days.

YTF,

That's the video on HTV. Artie encouraged that it be added. YouTube might take it down, but HTV seems to have it permanently.

I didn't hear the show yet (I'll catch some replay commuting tonight), but this is from www.howardstern.com

"Steve Langford reported that Kenneth Keith Kallenbach died of pneumonia early this morning and, in a rare show of emotion, broke down in the middle of the story: “I'm sad.” Howard said the legal issues that preceded
Kenneth's death left him unsure of how to feel. Steve said he wanted to know if Kenneth had been receiving proper medical care in prison - but refused to speculate further when Howard asked if it might have been a suicide."

First thing to cross my mind upon reading this was the Gilbert laugh.

alright i have only heard bits and pieces of the kenneth keith story. but here's a few issues i'm having:

1) according to langford, the police report said kenneth keith grabbed the underage girl and tried to get her in his car. but langford said that in court, the girl testified that kenneth keith only spoke to her.

i also heard a caller or two mention, that based on kenneth's past, maybe he was just messing around with the girl and wasn't even serious?

2) why was he still in prison after one month and why didn't he receive medical attention until he was at the edge of death?

maybe once i hear the full story and get all the accurate information, i will not think this whole thing sounds so f'ed up. however, if langford keeps reporting this, and it continues to sound fishy, and howard doesn't follow-up on monday, then i will be disappointed. i don't for a minute expect truth and justice to win a battle against the police, but at least they could put some heat on whatever parties are at fault (if any).

obviously howard is a moral relativist and cold-hearted, we all know this. but maybe he will surprise us for once and not let this story die until the truth comes out. any clips or appearances from kenneth keith over the last couple years indicate he was still full of life. i was really disappointed with how howard handled the story this morning, and how argumentative he was with everyone. he even said ken's name wrong at one point.

He made bail on the child abduction charges, but was put back in jail (not prison) for a parole violation. Jail isn't the greatest place to get top notch medical treatment. People occasionally die of pneumonia while they aren't incarcerated as well.

There is an article about KKK's death in the Philadelphia Daily News today. His mother said he had cystic fibrosis and the jail failed to care for him properly, a county official disputes that.

I would guess that being there for what he was accused of wasn't the most pleasant time to serve anyway.
