Why not just keep going to your old barber? You presumably used to make the drive every day, so it seems like it'd be worth it to you to go once every month or two to get a cut.

Yeah my guy does this, as well as shaves my neck which is something that the standard chain shops usually won't do.
I spend $21+$4 = $25 total. I also go in between cuts for a trim around the neck and ears for which he charges me $5 and I usually tip $2-3.
I moved to the SF Bay Area a while back and went to ~8 different barbers over a few years before I found a guy I was happy with. Middle-aged Croatian dude. Twice as much as what I used to spend, but worth it.

14 times/year? That seems frequent. I go every ~5-6 weeks, and I think my hair grows faster than average. I do go in between cuts to get a neck and ear trim but that's only $5. And if you're just buzzing it, that would only cost $10 to do. But yeah, for people who look good with short hair, obviously this is the way to go.
