Help me settle a bet folks, I have always pronounced goiter as Goy-ter and that's the only way I've heard it until my buddy Carl pronounced it JOY-ter. He insists it is the correct way (he's from Boston if it matters). A little etymological research suggest that the word comes from the German Kröpfner so both pronunciations may be wrong. It is very important to me to hear how you pronounce goiter, on bended knee I beg you to fill out this poll. Many thanks

I have to confess that I actually don't know where Carl grew up. I am not sure why I said he was from Boston. It may have something to do with the fact that I have been pretty depressed lately, I don't know. I do thank you guys for your comments, your poll votes mean more to me then you could possibly know.
