I think "no sex" rule between a teacher and a student is a good one. And not because the 22 y.o. woman has abused an 18 y.o. man. I mean.... To call it "sexual abuse" is ridiculous. But more because the role of a teacher collapses after the guy has fked her. What can she teach him after the fact of sex? Where will be his mind? The answer is obvious.

I used to work at a school system, and my desk was in a classroom, sorta. A new teacher had just started working there, was a super-achiever. As in, she graduated high school in 3 years and college in 3 years. Instead of being the typical 21-22 years old college graduate, she was 19. She was hot. She was blond. To make it worse, in order to try and look older, she vamped it up quite a bit, in her clothes and makeup.

Wow, one of the female teachers in this thread is my sister! I won’t divulge which one, though.

I do agree that there should be a double standard and that the female teachers that sleep with 16+ year old boys shouldn’t have any real prison time. Unfortunately, my sister did get prison time for hers.

The law should treat equal behavior equally. The argument is that a male teacher having sex with a female student is different than a female teacher with a male student. You might disagree with that argument but there are differences.

That's true, women on average are more attracted to the status of a man, than men are attracted to the status of a woman.

But a male is also attracted to a hot female teacher. Most probably have had fantasies over a hot female teacher at some point. Therefore, they would also likely to be manipulated just as much.

At the end of the day, same crime deserves same punishment, regardless of who did it.
