Bippity boppity bump

I've been making a dish comprised largely of ground beef, diced tomatoes, and beans. I'm not gonna call it the c word, but yeah.

I need it to taste MOAR CHIPOTLE

In my last batch(3lbs of meat and 60 ounces of tomato stuff)
I used an entire bottle with a dash of this gross but very spicy hot stuff and the flavor was pretty good, as was the heat.

However, that's a pretty expensive ingredient, and honestly I wouldn't mind it having MOAR CHIPOTLE.

I used to use these chipotles in a can, with adobo sauce, 4 ounces worth or something, probably 7 peppers. It added a lot of heat but not nearly enough CHIPOTLE FLAVOR. I tried deseeding them as much as I could and it helped but not a ton.

Basically, I want my food to taste more like that delicious Tabasco product without adding two whole bottles to every batch. If the food ends up not being intensely hot, that's a plus.

i've added a few cans of diced tomatoes with chipotle in place of reg. diced tomatoes and it gives it a decent amount of chipotle flavor.

Bros mix some habanero salsa with the pizza sauce for some mouth kick.

Where do you find this? I don't think my Stop N Shop type of grocery store carries it. At least, not in the diced tomato section.

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/r...-chili-sambal/

I made this sweet chili sambal (but I made mine much spicier than her recipe) and it is delicious. Next time I'll put a bit less oil because its a bit oily (I don't use a measuring cup so I might have put too much the first time), but it is really delicious.

I just ignored all the peppers in the recipe and used a crap load of whatever chili peppers I had in the fridge (the small red ones you find in asian supermarkets). In the book the author says she doesn't like things very spicy so I think the recipe as is won't satisfy most people here.

This is from the cookbook from the chick from http://steamykitchen.com/

Because it hasn't been mentioned yet:

Pretty solid, the stuff I usually get. Yucatan is also pretty good. Usually only use Sriracha for Asian food. Tastes weird for me when I put it on anything else. I've also tried all the concentrated capsaicin stuff but it's just all heat and no flavor. I use it to make other hot sauces hotter. 99% of the food I eat has hot sauce on it. Just tastes bland without it.

where can i get super hot peppers or food in general? the best stuff locally is habanero which after a few days of scorching my tongue i can eat casually and am ready for more. i'm also looking for hot sauce - have purchased the spiciest i can find, the best heat was Dave's Insanity but it's just a pleasant burn now.

Try an Asian or Mexican grocery store.

Well, if you really want to test your abilities, you can buy pure capsaicin and/or very spicy hot sauces online. I think I saw a 3,000,000 scoville one on Amazon.

If you do this, please keep us updated!

i've seen plutonium 9 used in a few youtube videos. johnny scoville guzzled an entire bottle after melting it down in boiling water. i have a ways to go before getting there. given how much my tolerance has grown, i am really curious to see how far it can be pushed.

Do you have access to any authentic Thai restaurants? If so, ask them to hook you up. They will probably need some convincing that you want actual heat.

Any suggestion on a variety hot sauce box for an Xmas present? This guy is $50, which is fine, but would like to spend less.

image uploader is ****ing up for me, but here is where I'm leaning.

Looks awful

If it's for someone who really likes heat then look for a usa based chilli lovers site for recommendations unless you get one here. A decent bottle of seriously hot sauce will be cheaper (buy a few if you need to) and much more appreciated then some gimmick imo and experience.

Ok, probably switching to Yellowbird, which I've some version before, but don't remember anything about the taste.
