This is how I know you're trolling, you can't possibly be that stupid to make statements like these.

For those in the thread that are actually confused by this, set up the sun, Venus and earth in relative positions with models and you can see that Venus would be visible for a portion of the night side of the earth and eventually would set as long as Venus is not directly between the earth and sun which for most of the year is true.

With Jupiter outside our orbit we obviously see the whole thing.

Have fun explaining science's exact prediction of this and every solar or lunar eclipse. How about explaining any possible FE predictions of eclipses and as all your teachers should have asked you, "show your work"

MJ vs LeBron is actually a real discussion to have. Even if repetitive. And I'll argue the other side of whoever is arguing me.
Jordan vs Lebron arguments don't matter because neither one can hold a candle to Bill Russell.

FWIW I bought into this for 6 hours today so I give Moo a pass.

There have been many reports about the changes our planet Earth could endure in the months and years to come but many of them didn’t really pan out, making us question everything we read on the internet. But this time, NASA confirms what’s been circling the web recently – our planet Earth will experience total darkness for 15 days in November 2017 starting from November 15 to November 29.

NASA reports that this strange occurrence was expected to happen but they didn’t know exactly when. Upon more detailed examination the astronomers from NASA confirmed that the phenomenon will start on November 15 at 3:00 am and will most likely last until November 30, 4:45 pm.

According to experts this blackout will be caused by an astronomical event between Jupiter and Venus. There was even a detailed 1000 pages document written by Charles Bolden, head of NASA explaining the strange event to officials at the White House.

According to the report, during this specific period Jupiter and Venus will come in close proximity of each other and will be separated by just 1 degree. Venus will move to the south-west of Jupiter and as a result it will shine 10 times brighter than Jupiter. Venus’ bright light will heat up the gases in Jupiter causing a reaction which will release a an absurdly high amount of hydrogen into the space. This reaction will come in contact with our Sun at 2:50 am on November 15th.

Once the hydrogen reaches the Sun, a massive explosion is bound to occur on the surface of the Sun, increasing the temperature to more than 9000 degrees. The whole process will generate so much heat that the Sun will change its color into a bluish shade. Once this happens, the Sun will need a minimum of 14 days to restore its normal color and temperature.

As a result of this strange phenomenon, the Sun’s light will be seen much dimmer from the Earth and hence the 15-day blackout NASA is talking about.

“We do not expect any major effects from the Blackout event. The only effect this event will have on Earth is an increase of 6 – 8 degrees in temperature. the polar cap will be mostly affected by this. No one should worry much. This event would be similar to what Alaskans experience in the winter”, Bolden said.

I think this part indicates the rest of it will be a bad and unfunny joke. Like it's not going to get dark until 3 am.

If it took you longer than 6 seconds to realise that's BS, then you probably should operate heavy machinery

The scale that picture creates a favorable shadow to heliocentric eclipse model. In no way would a moon closer to the earth with a bigger flashlight create a shadow reduced to such a small size in such a short distance. When else do you imagine youve ever seen a shadow work like that?

My theory on most globers in this thread is this...

Low intelligence people see a flat earth discussion and think "PSSHAW this is obviously a lie, I can't wait to pwn this noob" Unfortunately they all realize quickly how solid the evidence for FE is, and how weak the globe model is.

They see that they are in far over their heads but continue to post in an attempt to alleviate their bruising egos and worldview. They try to provide proofs for things that are unobservable, untestable and unrepeatable.

It brings out the dogmatic religious side of them (it's called scientism) and continue to post over and over and over and over and over and over.....

To elaborate on my last post, another factor is the desire to fit in with others. There was a poster in this thread last month or whatever who I was deliberately ignoring because his posts were more horrible than most. Now he's stopped posting since he didn't get the positive reinforcement from other posters that he was hoping for. I'm not surprised that ignoring him worked.

So if a scientist says the earth is round they are a paid shill.. if anyone else says the earth is round, they are unintelligent.

Seems like you have all bases covered!

Yeah, nah...

If the earth is the size of a basketball, then the moon is the size of an orange at a distance of 30 feet and the sun would be 107 feet big at 2 miles. So the scaling is a little off in that image.

Go set up the experiment if you want. Good luck.
