OK RJ, I believe you. This premise should now be known as "RJ's theorem."

1BigOT,

Why do the major religious beliefs go along with the round earth thing? I mean, they have the biggest amount to lose with it. Flat earth helps their cause immensely.

I'm late to this game. I thought if the earth was flat then there would be no reason to fly over the North Pole. Or does only the North pole exist and not the South Pole? I know I know I'm a huge idiot and haven't read all 200+ pages of this thread.

Quote:
Foucault's pendulum, named after the French physicist Léon Foucault, is a simple device conceived as an experiment to demonstrate the rotation of the Earth. While it had long been known that the Earth rotates, the introduction of the Foucault pendulum in 1851 was the first simple proof of the rotation in an easy-to-see experiment.

I'm not sure why you'd think there wouldnt be a reason to fly over/vicinity of the N. Pole? True no flight path actually goes over the N. Pole, but the general idea of flying direct from two places like Chicago to Shanghai would involve going over Canada towards Russia then through to China. You've been told this is the path is cause it's shorter on a sphere, the actual reason is it's the direct way.

When you identify them as the major religions it doesn't seem like they are losing out. They can always say they knew along or find other ways to keep the flock. I wouldn't say any of the modern leaders or their council are the pious leaders we're propagandized into believing. The deception all around doesnt somehow end with the major religions. What would your answer be if I asked you why you thought they'd go along with it?

Bigot,

I'm sure you've discussed this previously, but can we talk about Gravity for a bit?

Can you let me know how the thing that us idiots believe in as "gravity" (based on the masses of objects, their distances from each other, and constants) works?

afaict the flat earther position is that there's no definitive map of the entire world.

Once they scrape together enough money to take one of the many commercially available relatively low costs trips to the Great Ice Wall and the Unknowable Beyond, they can start working on the maps.

This is true. They're other people's maps not ours. Obviously theyre different ways to measure but one of the important aspects with measurement that is never consistent is the actual size of the continents. Africa can apparently fit most of the other land on Earth in it yet no map depicts it as that large.
05-29-2017 , 01:25 PM
Asia is more than Africa by almost 50% land mass and only makes up 20% of the earth's land area.....not sure where you're getting your information again.
05-29-2017 , 01:30 PM
You guys should like make a map or some ****.

Bigot,

Weirdly, globes are pretty consistent in their sizing of continents and other land masses!

Please don't skip my question about gravity!

More like cat earth society.

Is it "explaining an alternate theory for gravity" season yet?

At a certain point you guys are just the sad nerds beating up an actual ******. We get it. You were bullied. Let it go.
05-29-2017 , 02:10 PM
Bigot,

Lol, so your contention is actually that 20% or so of the world's land (the other land masses listed) take up about the same space as 20% or so of the world's land mass in the form of one continent? And in a way that is totally not a surprise to anyone who has ever seen a globe?

LOL.

Some notable absences from your "most of the other land on Earth":

Canada
Mexico (Not missing but WTF lol that's a funny one to leave out of the dumbassed diagram)
South America
Australia
The former USSR
Antarctica
Greenland

... basically 60% of the world's total land area.

I know a guy with a traumatic brain injury you guys can mess with next.

There is no gravity so there's nothing to explain.
