It was Sally Fields. And it clearly shows there are dozens of references to the speech 'you like me, you really like me.' If you watched as many as you say you did, none stood out as different? The Bible one is incredible with the trespass/debtors change and the lion/wolf change. I don't have an answer for what it is or even an educated guess, but it does show that something quite strange is occurring.

The Tyndale translation, which came 85 years before the KJV, used “trespasses.” This translation was used in the original Book of Common Prayer, widely used for structured liturgy and congregational prayer, and also published before KJV. This became the standard, accepted translation that many learned. “Trespasses” was never in KJV.

I grew up learning the “trespasses” version, and I would be willing to bet that many of us learned it by rote, rather than memorizing it straight from Matthew 6. I learned it from neither KJV nor the BOCP. I went to Christian school from K-12 and didn’t even realize it was a passage from the Bible until long after I had already memorized it.

The lion/wolf “change” is likely due to people combining this with the description of Christ being the Lion of Judah (courageous conqueror) and the Lamb of God (blameless sacrifice), often styled as “the Lion and the Lamb.” Again, this is largely learned by hearing, not reading.

What is of some interest is considering how these kind of memes spread. For instance, like the previous poster, I learned The Lord's Prayer as containing "trespass". If I was to teach it to someone, I would pass that on to them. And so on. I had never seen the original.

People remember memories. When you think of a story you've told countless times of something that happened to you as a much younger you, you're not recounting your original memories of the event. You're now recounting your memories from those previous times you told the story, which were themselves memories. You're basically playing a game of Memory Telephone (or Memory Chinese Whispers) with yourself.

It's an interesting thing to realise, when you think about it. Emphasis on thinking about it.

Mandella effect is garbage IMO. Most of the so called proofs I can remember being the same from when I was younger. Forrest Gump never said his quote in the movie like he did in the trailers, same with the star wars quote, Jif peanut butter, Berenstain Bears etc... I remember all that stuff.

Also you have to take a look at the people pushing any theory and see if they are authentic to you. There are too many ME vids I've seen by garbage mainstream so called conspiracy theorists.
