Hopefully when Moo comes back he can explain this.

13 turkeys circling a dead cat. What does it mean?! Are they freemason turkeys?

Speaking of freemason, what's the deal with Mason Malmuth? Is he the Illuminati?

twoplustwo.com is 13 letters.

I think its impossible to be remotely intelligent without massive massive psychological issues and believe something like the earth is flat.

If I genuinely thought the earth was flat and everything was a massive conspiracy, I would basically be doing nothing but trying to prove I was wrong. Saving whatever money I could for telescopes and studying astrophysics, not even the complex stuff, just the math involved to be pretty sure the Earth is not some flat thing on a plane.

If you aren't devoting your life to these types of pursuits then you are just a lazy crazy bum.

i used to think these guys were just having a laugh by pretending to be wacky online, but irl they were actually aware of what's real and what's a joke. then 60 million people voted for trump

Moo has gone hard in the paint with germergate stuff and harassment of women as well as some other awful stuff in the past. These people think it's good to collect every awful view as if you get a medal for getting them all.

The thing is that most of these guys flat out deny that math is even true

Wait, what is all this talk of math? You can literally take a plane around the world, i.e. travel west until you're back at your starting point. Do the flat earthers have some counter to that?

Of course

how do you know you're not just flying in a circle over the flat earth?

Have you ever done that? Know anyone who has? Didn't think so.

You got me there. But the point is, why doesn't the flat earth society perform my experiment, taking video the entire time, to expose the evil conspiracy of the scientific lizard men once and for all? These people could end a tyrannical conspiracy which dupes billions of people for the cost of a few thousand bucks. They are morally reprehensible for not doing so.

I'm pretty sure all of your questions are addressed in the FAQ I linked to

I particularly enjoy:

It's also worth noting that if a person were to look down at the earth from high above, they would expect to see a circular shape where the sun's spotlight was shining. This explains why high altitude photographs are generally curved to produce the illusion of a round horizon.
lol...if you could apply a triangular lampshade to the sun's spotlight, it would make it seem like the earth is a big ol' tetrahedron a d4, if you will

The first two are not the case for the cardinal directions based at a point, so it must be the last. But if you travel along a latitude until you reach the starting point, then you travel along a longitude until you reach the starting point, then the only common point of these journeys will be the starting point, which you can verify with your own eyes.
It doesn't seem like any real geometric discussion is derived from their arguments. Like, as LL pointed out, a flat-earther should be expected to identify other phenomena, or at least have a vague interest in other types of shapes.
04-29-2017 , 08:47 PM
That argument I made was faulty and stupid, though. I deleted it.

My wife builds satellites and worked on ISS in the 90's. I've always suspected she's been hiding a deep dark secret.....

I'm also with you on Bill Nye:

Because you can prove the earth is round using jr high level trigonometry and an experiment you can do in your backyard.

They estimated the earth's circumference within like 1000 miles a millennium ago using this method. So, trig and math in general is a huge problem for them.
04-29-2017 , 10:43 PM
Not surprising this is a moo buckets thread.
Has that clown ever had a coherent thought in his life?
04-29-2017 , 10:44 PM
These guys are Babs-level dumb. They parrot some nonsense they've seen on youtube and when you explain why they're wrong they move on to a different piece of nonsense. By tomorrow they've forgotten everything and start parroting the first bit of nonsense again. Rinse and repeat. And they love to argue and feel superior because they're not sheep.

Except here I think Moo is actually correct. If the world were round, why don't golf balls keep rolling indefinitely?
