I have a serious question. What is the deal with the supposed "earth is spinning" claim lots of "scientists" make. Like, how do we just walk and go about our business if the earth is spinning?

Think about this. If the earth is really spinning, if I go outside my house I should be able to jump up a thousand times and each time move some, so I'd be standing in front of the next house or something. But if I go outside and jump 1000 times in front of my house, somehow I'm still standing in exactly the same place. How does that make any sense?
