Obviously suboptimal. Buy used, ensure the seats are cloth, purchase vegan tires, etc. Even with those precautions the overwhelming likelihood is the vehicle won't be vegan.

By fhe same token, housing units aren't vegan either...

Do you think maybe that the broken part of your brain that tells you to obsess over your weird diet (infinitely more than normal vegans I know) is the same part of your brain that's telling you that homelessness is an option?

I'd tell you that exploring this is stupid and potentially symptomatic of a mental illness but I'm pretty sure it won't register with you.

Churches. How has this not been mentioned? Many offer food, clothing, and showers. Also, if you're in a car, they'll usually let you stay in their parking lot.

But honestly, do everything you can to not be homeless. It's a cycle that is very difficult for people to get out of. Exhaust all other avenues first.

I thought you were a live pro? Why not at least try and be homeless in the LA area and just play marathon sessions and get free food.

living in your van is all the rage now. Tons of you tube channels to get good info about the lifestyle. I'd paint it like a company van and you could pretty much stealth camp in any parking lot and not have to worry about getting hassled. Some of these vans are pretty ****ing nice on the inside too, and from the outside it just looks like a regular van. With solar technology coming along the way it has, it wouldn't be that uncomfortable imo. If I was 20 again id probably do this, just going from rock climbing location to rock climbing location.

Funny thing, I generally don't mention my veganism; I simply respond when others question my stances on issues.

Case in point: this thread.

Obsession indeed

OP hasn't addressed why he's looking into being homeless. I don't think it's because he is busto.

You can save money on rent by finding a roommate. What's restricting your freedom to travel if you were to do that? It just seems a bit extreme to intentionally be homeless so you can travel. I'm guessing this is one of those "trying to find yourself" deals, right?

How does a homeless, carless person get away with robbing a bank?

All,

I believe most of you are taking "homeless" too literally. I think what he really means is that he's looking into ways to live without paying for a permanent residence. That's not hard to do at all when you're not actually broke and forced to be homeless.

Well then hed better be rich. And it certainly doesnt sound like thats the case otherwise he wouldnt be looking at sleeping under bridges to save money on rent.

It is baaaaad idea.

Once when I was a student I visited London. As a broke student I didn't see why I should pay 30 pounds then for a hotel and did spent the night on the street. You have noooooo clue how it is not to have a safe place to lay down for few hours. I clearly was a lot more clueless then than now and the first thing I tried, is to sleep on a bench in hyde park. Baaad idea. Not even 15 min later a policeman shoo me away. Then I walked through London trying to find a bench that would be accommodating. I failed. At the end of the night when tube started operating I just sat myself in the tube and slept there. It was an exceptionally dumb adventure. Few shady creatures tried to chat me up this night. I was lucky that nothing really bad happened.

You really have no clue how much it is worth to have a bed if you consider to give it up voluntarily. Good places to sleep for little to no money are rare and there are a lot of seasoned homeless there.

If you want to travel you can do couch surfing, you can go for very cheap hostels, but to go homeless is seriously dumb. If you are renting your permanent residence may be you can subrent it.

Horrible idea that can't possibly end well and its shocking that you are even entertaining this idea.

Unless you just don't have a choice for reasons undisclosed but theres gotta be something you can do. Talk to a friend or family member. If you don't have income right now get a job, any job. Contact your state welfare department and see what kind of program they can offer you until you can get back on your feet. Get on food stamps right now.

Do not become homeless. Listen to me.

A homeless lifestyle like the couple youtube people we see itt you need to be able to think outside the box to make stuff work, not sure if OP is capable of doing that.

If you want to be 'homeless' and travel you obviously need a ****ing car, if you want to enjoy that lifestyle as much as possible you obviously need a car you can sleep in.
