I have a live oak having a "mast" year, so millions of acorns it seems. It was plenty good for that (only used it once) and I can't imagine it won't be good enough for leaves.

having come from central california, I live for Live Oaks... I tried to grow one here in Vegas from a seed and I got it to 7 feet tall and it was doing well... until the dog started peeing on it. a year later, it's gone.

I have 3 on my lot and one red oak. The front live oak is my pride and joy. Now I know to keep the dogs away!

If getting a leaf blower, look for one that's also the vacuum. Churns up the leaves into smaller bits, so fewer bags. Also easier to get into the trash/composting.

I happen to have Toro's model, but will look at other when it needs to be replaced.

Yes, but only if you will use that function. I use 0 bags, so ...

And for pwnsall's question: Our EGO blower will blow stray animals into the next yard.

Trivia time: The six original frigates of the US Navy (vice Continental Navy, which was sold off after the revolution) were made of live oak. One of them, the USS Constitution, AKA Old Ironsides, is still afloat.

A little trick I just discovered!

I was gorilla gluing my sandals and got some on my hands.

I tried nail polish remover - no effect
I tried paint thinner/remover - no effect

Then I tried baking soda. Rubbed it all over my hands and washed it off. The glue was GONE!!!

Kind of shocked how well it worked.

Glad you found something that worked before you took your skin off trying every chemical combination in your house.

Yes baking soda is a great multi-purpose cleaner. Here are some other uses - https://www.bhg.com/homekeeping/hous...h-baking-soda/

Bestine... it's why it was created.

I used it for decades for cleaning art work and 'gum' reduction.

Hoping to get back go the rank of home owner in the next year. Not excited about prices and interest rates, however.

I know more about what to expect as a homeowner now, and i qualify for first time home buyer programs since it's been over 3 years since I owned a home. That helps a little.

These are good if you bag. Watch out if you have allergies though. Even with allergy meds it sent me immediately into sinus infection. A terrible, no good, very bad sinus infection.

I'm thinking of getting this as a Christmas gift from my wife to me...

Something that won't break the bank while able to traverse a couple steep hills while carrying my crap.

I wouldn't mind an electric version but all the electric carts I looked at don't have the torque to handle the hills.

i always imagine live oaks as looking exactly the same underground as they do above.

how big we talking about?
was driving my deer spouse to an appointment before this morning's dawn and the headlights were reflected by the eyes of a 4x4 crossing the road in front of us.
scrawny guy with a large rack

a week or so ago we found ourselves together navigating the winding roads of val d'orcia close to sunday midnight.
on our way to the only open ER within an hour radius
she had tripped a few minutes before, bracing for the landing broke her pinkie and the wine glass she carried clipped an artery as it shattered.
i only bring this up because a fox crossed diagonally in front of us at a rotary on the way there,
and on the way home, after a four hour wait for free treatment, we witnessed road crossings by deer, boar, badger, and hedgehog

sometimes plastic bags can be a sanguine solution to a leaky problem

Dayum! Your wife clipped an artery and you had to drive an hour to an ER. Must have been one hell of an experience. I trust everything got sutured and set satisfactorily? Were plastic bags used to slow the exsanguination on the drive?

Not sure anyone was really in the mood for the wildlife tour on that trip. Maybe you should return next year?
