I'm sharing this carpool karaoke here on OOT not because it brought tears of joy to my eyes at several points but because it may be historic and most definitely HAPPY...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjvzCTqkBDQ

It's all 100% positive and will make anybody happy.

What's going to bring tears of joy to my eyes and likely the entirety of OOT is when I ban you from starting any more threads.

Turns out he and Lennon wrote "She loves you yeah yeah yeah" there (and he reveals that his father suggested "She loves you yes yes yes"), and it goes to number 1 while he was still living in the house with his parents. The current owner has a piano and McCartney plays it and sings along.

This was just one of many surprises in the 23 minute clip.

Carpool Karaoke episodes are ****, mostly due to James Corden being an unfunny **** with a mediocre voice who feels compelled to sing louder than the guest at all times.

This one was way better though Corden did his best to **** it up.

The house on Forthlin Road is a National Trust property, acquired in 1995, and the interior has been restored to its appearance in the early 1960s, with replica furniture, fixtures and wallpaper. The lady who answers the door in the Corden film is not the owner but the National Trust guide. The house is also Grade II listed as of national historic importance.

In Remember, a book of photographs by Paul's younger brother Mike (himself a chart-topper as lead singer of Scaffold under the alias Mike McGear), on p.107, there's a photo of Paul and John in the living room at Forthlin Road, strumming acoustic guitars and looking down at a school exercise book lying on the carpet which has the handwritten lyrics of 'I Saw Her Standing There' in it. John is wearing his thick black-framed glasses, which of course he never wore in public in those days. Paul has one foot in the fireplace (it's not a big room) and the primitive TV set is visible just over his shoulder.

Man, lots of cynical wankers on 2+2 lol.

I loved when the did the surprise performance at the pub. Those people must’ve been so excited.

I'm old enough to have experienced Beatlemania in America.

By far, Carden's best Karaoke ride. The pub scene at the end made the piece into something magical...and I get how people without the 60's Beatlemania experiences might not have the same tug on the heartstrings.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if there's a Beatles tour of Liverpool just like they have a Mozart (and Sound of Music) tour of Salzburg. I wanna sign my name on the Penny Lane thing that they visited during the Car Pool Karaoke.

We have Bieber and Lil Tay. I think we have a rough idea what it was like.

Paul McCartney also appears very down-to-earth and likable. Hard to say that for most people who have reached his level of fame and success in entertainment.
