Roast date. I ordered a bag from Verve Coffee a few weeks ago that was roasted same day it was shipped, which was free 2-day. Not saying you can't get fresh coffee on Scamazon--you can, and I have--but it's more of a dice roll than ordering straight from the roaster imo.

And for Josie, there have to be coffee roasters all around Boston. You could find a local shop and just go in and tell them what you want and they could hook you up. They can even grind it for you so you don't have to buy one.

I bet there are also a couple nice small roasteries close to you where you can get fresh roasted beans, ground to the level you need them (i.e. for cold brew) and ask for advice what kind of beans or blend would match your coffee preferences.

3-5 years ago, everybody wanted to open up a (craft) brewery. Over the last year, I've been to at least 5 presentations of people who opened (or looked for money to open) a coffee business that included in-house roasting.

A couple of years ago, I met the guy who owns http://www.theroasterie.com. His story started over 20 years ago with him roasting in his basement and going business to business for a month until he sold his first 5lbs bag of coffee to one of them. Today they are one of the biggest roasters in the Midwest.

This exactly. I've never checked on Amazon, but I can't imagine you could get anything that had been roasted within a month or two, probably much much longer than that. Any actual roaster you order from, you're going to get some very fresh, very good coffee.

As far as light or dark, I know at Stache he'll custom roast it however you like it. I always order light to medium as the lighter the roast the more caffeine it will have.

I did a survey. After that she'd keep asking as she handed me the receipt. After a few times of that I said "I did the survey."

She said "No you didn't, that was a few weeks ago, not recently."

Somehow she knew.

She probably looks at the survey code on the receipt and remembers it especially because it's you.

I believe the standards for a custom under title are higher than being an entitled fast food coffee drinker that refuses to fill out a customer survey for an overworked underpaid donut lady who returned your something something hand bag with your roll in it.

This happened in ATF not that long ago. Some random offended that she was a journeyman. Mods changed her to journeyer in a matter of minutes IIRC.

FWIW, I asked about your case right after somebody brought it up in this thread and was basically told we don't hand them out like candy but if a mod of the forum you frequent most thinks you deserve that custom under title, you'll get it. So there are two options, you could either ask a mod from your 'home forum' or become a regular poster in the German forum. That way it would be my call

Would still think you're a very nice person, even if you said those responses weren't really for you - it's okay, everybody has their own style and has to find things that'll work for them
