Highly unlikely. Story is obv. fake 19/20 times but that one time, something bad might happen and various people will immediately post about it on Twitter. Then, SW is forced to publicly apologize and the agent has to look for a new job. That’s just not worth it.

An animal completes my emotions.

I also did it as part of market research. If I am in the business, I better damn well know how my product is being utilized.

I did find traveling with a dog produces a mild increase in anxiety.

It did provide advertising benefits as a few people inquired how they too can make their dog an emotional support animal.

I saw scores of dogs at the airport this Christmas. All serve as advertising.

And germane to this thread is that they automatically upgrade you to pre-boarding. They mark your ticket with Valid ESA.

It doesn't mean you are anxious flying. You might have anxiety other places, but you are allowed to use it on plane. Which serves its purpose as a transportation vehicle so you are not inconvenienced with the assistance one may require. No different than them not charging for bringing a wheelchair on a plane.

You can kidnap a 6-year old too and get in front of the "B".

***Priority preboarding is available for Customers who have a specific seating need to accommodate their disability, need assistance in boarding the aircraft, or who need to stow an assistive device. Customers who are traveling with assistance and emotional support animals qualify for preboarding. If a Customer with a disability simply needs a little extra time to board, we will permit the Customer to board before Family Boarding, between the “A” and “B” groups.

An adult traveling with a child six years old or younger may board during Family Boarding, which occurs after the “A” group has boarded and before the “B” group begins boarding. If the child and the adult are both holding an “A” boarding pass, they should board in their assigned boarding position.***

Tips on How to Get a Good Seat on Southwest Airlines

Many people either love or hate flying Southwest Airlines because of its unique boarding process and open seating policy. While it can be stressful having to hustle for a good seat on Southwest, I’ve found that with a few simple strategies that dreaded middle seat can easily be avoided.

golf,

Quote:
The Passenger has a mental or emotional disability recognized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – Fourth Edition (DSM IV)
The Passenger needs the emotional support of psychiatric service animal as an accommodation for air travel and/or for activity at the passenger's destination
The individual providing the assessment is a licensed mental health professional or medical doctor, and the Passenger is under his or her professional care
Do you really have a mental or emotional disability diagnosed by a licensed mental health professional or doctor, or did you lie about so you could take your dog on the plane?

There you go chip, tell the gate agent you died on the last trip. Luckily your friend that met you at the destination had a defibrillator and brought you back to life.

I am bound by HIPAA not to disclose any medical information about patients.

I actually had no interest in traveling with my dog. I did it for the market research. It is my opinion that it raises anxiety for the human and the animal. Now, perhaps if I was deathly afraid of flying, that would be another thing.

I learned that they automatically convert your ticket to pre-board. It is not something you have to request.

This was the first time I have ever pre-boarded. That is how I got to learn about all the others that were pre-boarding, like the 22-year-old woman who had anxiety finding a seat and didn't need a doctor's note.

How do I know all this information? She demanded to sit right next to me because of my dog. And she held my dog the entire flight.

There were a bunch of other pre-boarders. There was one woman who had some type of mental disability. She had five other people with her that were able to pre-board too. I would say there were about 15 pre-boarders. Only one other dog which was terribly disappointing.

Being a black guy with a large beard helps. People skip the seat next to me unless it's last option in most cases.

I was told not to talk about ESAs here. I believe there may be a thread about that somewhere else.

To point on this thread, an ESA gets you pre-boarding and access to virtually every seat.

Skimmed through this thread so I might have missed something but most of you suck at Southwest and traveling in general.

Stop checking bags. Waiting for the bags to come out sucks and takes too much time. You will also find yourself in travel situations where your plans change and you will wish you had your stuff with you.

I know there are exceptions where your you need to check something like maybe your hot girlfriend can’t fit her stuff into a carryOn.

If you are traveling for work and need to take something that won’t fit in your carry on or bag, consider shipping it to your hotel.

Get the exit row with extra leg room if you can unless you have a tight connection.

If you are flying with your woman, get the isle seat in the exit row where there is only two seats and save the other one for your woman.

If you like sitting by the window or are tall, the nuts is the one seat in the exit row that doesn’t have a seat in front of it. If you are abnormally short, get that seat and video the reaction of the tall person that was trying to get that seat and post it in this thread.

If you like the aisle, the aisle seat in the exit row with extra space is the seat for you.

A1-15 is Business Select and it is usually pretty empty depending on where you are flying from.

I fly a lot for work so I am usually between A16 and A-18 if I didn’t book business select and I get my preferred seat often.

Southwest has the best rewards program by a ton. I never pay for personal flights. I have Companion Pass so I can take my girlfriend with me for free any time I fly even if I book with points.

I avoid checking bags like the plague but I can’t imagine many situations where shipping my bags to a hotel is better than just checking them.

jjshabado-

It is situational depending on the item, how quickly you need it, if shipping it is pain for you, etc. If you are carrying a big suit case for some reason... just check it.
